Will it continue? I don't know. But I think many teams are of the mindset that if they are going to rebuild, tanking is the way to go.
It's actually the last 4 years that it seems there has been more tanking. But hard to say that it will continue like that in the next 4 years. This trend seems to go in waves the last 19 years.

I would not be shocked based on the moves this past off season and the young players that teams have that no teams are below 60 points, and 3rd last is close to 70 points.

Yeah I think because they use the term "advance position" that SJ would still be at zero lottery wins for the purpose of the new rule.

"No single team will be able to advance in the Draft order by reason of winning a Lottery Draw more than two (2) times in any five (5) year period. This limitation will not affect a Club’s ability to retain its presumptive Draft position in any Draft Lottery"

Yeah, difficult to call it a trend, it's more likely that we just happen to have 3 committed tankers a the same time.

If we see these teams start to rise, and multiple others jump right in to replace them, then it starts to look like a trend.

Two years, in fact. They have only four players left from the team that lost to Edmonton in the '22 playoffs: Backlund, Coleman, Andersson, and Vladar. That amazes me.

I don't think they've seen such massive turnover since the early 80s, when Cliff Fletcher shipped out all the players who were pining for Atlanta and replaced them with guys who actually liked playing in Canada.

65% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

If presented with phony precision, that number rises to 94.2%.

Makes me think of Shane Pinto (2 year deal, 23 years old, center) and Philip Tomasino (1 year deal, 23 years old, center, burried on 4th line).

I really think there would be some good Pinto-Bean chemistry. Probably worth a gamble.

Kakko could be another name. He's played centre as well, and signed a bridge deal this year. He's also playing in the Rangers' bottom six; maybe that's not sitting well with him either. Although their team is doing well, so that wouldn't make too much sense at the moment.

Conroy wants to use his cap space and acquire a centre like Pinto. Ottawa is right up against the cap, so I bet Conroy is trying to use his cap space to get Pinto for a good price.

Don't we gotta widdle the guesses down to RHS?

Tomasino, Pinto, Wright.

Man, Parssinen isn't exactly right handed but I'd rather him than Tomasino IMO.

Would love any of these guys if the price is right, but can’t see Wright being available. I’ve always been a fan of the other two, and both could use a change of scenery. Pinto in particular matches the physical profile of a prototypical #1 center that GM’s and scouts drool over.

I also think Parsinen is capable of a lot more than he’s shown.

Sandman, the one thing that Nashville needs desperately is right side defense. Would any of Miromanov, Pachal or even reconnecting with Barrie, be enough to move the needle in terms of shaking loose a Tomasino, Parsinnen or even a Liam Foudy?
