I think we came out ok on that trade.
It's the Hanifin trade that really gets stuck in my craw.
Unless they fall off a cliff and that pick amounts to anything substantial, I see it as a bust.
Not Conroy's fault, still just chaps me though.

Just think of them as Koronato and Klomberg.

If Miromanov plays 5 years in Calgary in a starting role and the Flames add a top half of the roster player with their first round pick I'm good with it.
If Vegas disintegrates and Calgary gets a top 10 pick it's a home run.
I think there was pause when the deal went down because we didn't know the pick slid and would be unprotected and the vast majority of us had no idea who Miromanov was.
I'm not sold Miromanov is a secondary piece, but if he is it's a solid trade.

Yeah seemed like we sat while other teams were playing every other day with regular scheduling.

Worth mentioning as well that the Flames drafted goaltender Zarubin with Vegas' 3rd from that deal as well. May not move the needle much but if he turns out all the better.

Rooney is back. And Kirkland wasn't as good last game. Just expected Huska to start rotating them.
(though my preference is Kirkland)

CBS’s NHL injury report says Rooney is expected to be out until Oct. 28. Cheese's OP in this thread also lists Rooney as injured.

Bust is a strong word here, I think. The Iginla trade was a bust:
1st (Klimchuk) + Agostino + Hanowski
Zarubin is a longshot (all goalies are) but, >>>>> Hanowski
Miromanov already >>>>>> Agostino (and still some upside)
1st almost certainly going to be better than Klimchuk, and still the possibility of a home run
We're a LONG way from calling this deal a bust.

I'm just saying a player of Hanifin's calibre should have netted us more sure assets outside of Miro, who, I like, but am not sure of his potential outside of being a likely 5-6 Dman.
It was good to get an NHLer out of the deal but Hanifin made it really hard to extract proper value out of the trade and then he ended up signing there anyways, which was an extra kick in the bojangles.

Yup, Hanifin didn't help matters, and it was far from an (immediately) awesome deal. I just don't think 'bust' is fair (yet)

I might have worded it improperly originally but yes, nor do I because we still have that 1st round pick to utilize, which is a solid asset.
