Wochy is a perfect example of what I'm on about. He had the talent to be an NHL regular, but in a six-team league there just wasn't room. After his time as a Cleveland Baron, he played for the Buffalo Bisons, another very high-class AHL club that could easily have joined the NHL at one point.
(By the way, the road play-by-play man for the Bisons in their final season was Rick Jeanneret. The team folded when the Sabres entered the NHL, and Jeanneret moved over to the new club.)

I am 51 years old, and I lived through the rivalry in the 1980s. All of us who did have been similarly affected. I get how it can seem like mania from the outside, but it's real.

Ugh yeah, worst part is I have literally gone off on people in this forum before for not spelling players names correctly because it drives me nuts.
I also saw I misspelled "Kuzminko" in another thread this week.
I feel shame.
