Well, after seeing the report on Global I decided to give Glenmore a try last night. A couple of things to note:

- It is still a 50 zone from Centre Street to Crowchild both ways.
- There are pretty much only 2 lanes open with a lot of lane zig zagging- I had to hit the horn twice to remind other drivers what the white lines meant.
- Coming from Elbow to Glenmore WB there is a yield. That's right, a fricken yield. Must have been about 15 cars lined up there at 8:00 last night.
- Ramp from MacLeod to WB Glenmore is still closed.

So, still better that it has been for the last 2 years. But not exactly sunshine and lollypops either.

The new goggles also do nothing.

Definately makes it faster for me in the morning.. but 84th onto Glenmore is getting so bad it eats up any gain from this.

I don't want to see construction workers get run over but this smells like a cash-cow speed trap.

I'm going the other way from you, glenmore onto 84th, and the traffic west bound on glenmore and south bound on 84th is insane.

Once 84th gets fixed, and if they could do something around the train tracks by ogden road, then i'd have nearly a free flow commute. 84th and Glenmore takes me at least 10 minutes to get through after work, and the train tracks take another 10 or 15.

I get on East bound glenmore at 14th street at about 6:20am and it's pretty smooth sailing.

West bound after work is a little more packed. And that yield onto glenmore is stupid. Looked like westbound after 14th street was still a mess. Lucky I get off at 14th street I guess.

I can see east Glenmore being the next major project. The land is already there east of Riverbend; with the exception of the one gas station.

The McKnight/36th/Metis Trail is supposed to be finished this weekend. At least there is a completion party this Saturday, and I noticed they were laying some new pavement this morning. With the good weather they have a good shot at finishing.

And anyone notice on the east side of Barlow the airport's golf course is well under way? From an article in the Sun a year ago:

Silver Wing will be a 27-hole championship layout playing about 7,000 yards for 18 holes. The three sets of nine-hole courses will each feature five tees on every hole and will be a par-72.
