Yeah that was a bit of an eye opener, like he hit a car. The kids in junior don't push back quite like that.

When I saw it, I wondered if he would be enter concussion protocol.

CTs are used to detect brain injuries, as are MRIs.

And it was really cool to see the Flames out here. They were super generous with all the kids signing a bunch of autographs after their icetime. Coleman in particular was great when they were leaving the building taking selfies with every kid that asked. Seems like a great guy.

Altitude training before Saturday. The Kraken are going to get skewered!

Probably, also doing a team bonding event out there.

Yeah that makes me think it isn’t a concussion at least. That’s not exactly and injury you can feel and be mad about the implications right away.

Don't need to get hit in the head to get a concussion. Especially if it ain't your first rodeo.

If it isn't for sponsorship reasons, players would hate the publicization of their maladies by Pfizer, the maker of Viagra.

I’m watching the video and it looks like he takes a shoulder to the jaw. Anyone else see that?

Hm, anecdotally I can say this is untrue.
I got a major concussion in HS Football. I still don't "remember" anything about that day, but apparently I was fairly aware that I was injured in some capacity. They ran assessments at me on the sideline and I apparently totally lost my emotional cool and kicked a football into the stands as hard as I could when told I couldn't play again that day.

As soon as I saw Honzek on the ice, he looked stunned and a bit out of it, then he was acting over emotional on the bench... reminded me exactly of what people said I did when I got my concussion. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it was what happened to Honzek but I wouldn't rush to make any claims. We don't need to speculate on injuries, we ultimately don't need him in the lineup right now. Best thing is that he rests and recovers, no matter what injury he has.

Would imagine this is a community building decision not a lack of available ice

I am not big on speculating, but when I watched the hit, I thought sternum, collarbone, ribs - something like that.

Well Canmore is a lot more fun for a team to possibly go enjoy a nice meal and maybe do something as a unit outdoors. This org needs to do more of that to break up the monotony of the season and with great places like Banff/Canmore so close it makes a lot of sense.

My guess is it was both community outreach and a bonding trip. Two birds.

Just imagine how depressing it is for players living in Stinkville, knowing that their team-building excursions will be to such fabled locales as Erinsburg, Westlock and Vegreville.

It makes sense to move Coronato up and leave Zary where he is. Only two lines get disrupted from Honzek's injury, rather than three.

Hopefully Honzek is fine. Week to week sounds (and of course is) much worse than day to day, but hoping it isn't a concussion and it is just a tweak of some sort that just needs proper rest. Here's hoping anyway.

As for who draws in - a player should never lose his spot because he got injured. When Rooney is heathy, he should draw back in. A Lombo - Rooney - Kirkland line wouldn't be the worst thing, with Klapka alternating with Kirkland. Rooney is very well liked in the room too. Klapka can end up being a relatively important piece if he continues taking strides forward with his development. If he doesn't play much, I would rather see him demoted back down and play lots of minutes.

Never agreed with this - it's a business, and if someone comes in, seizes the opportunity, and plays better? So be it!
