I started getting nervous as soon as one of my picks threw out the name of my other pick. D'oh! Kishan played himself out of that one, though.

Rome is so easy to hate. I love a cocky villain.

Show has been lacking this for a handful of seasons.

I have to wonder if her tribe mates have never seen anyone who's actually 45 before. Or maybe they are just humouring the old lady.

I liked the idol drop with the paint. That's a clever update.

The 3 part idol returns. That usually leads to some interesting gameplay, especially since an idiot has 1/3 of it.

I'm not sure Kishan is the best vote there. But it sure shook things up.

Next week should get more interesting. Not sure how my guy Rome is still there, I'm kinda cheering against him lol.

I had a feeling that was going to be the case. They have food now with the chicken exchange for eggs so they're probably not as worried about winning rewards + they trust andy more than anika which is huge going into the merge.

Andy as much of a fool as he's been (one of my picks) has dodged his second bullet but has made a strong alliance in this game that could take him far.

Really? We haven't had a villain in ages and even if you don't like the guy it makes for good TV. I'm cheering for him to keep it going.

An interesting week. I liked the Survivor Social Hour bit.

Sawing with the wrong side of the saw...that Andy really is someone special.

Has a tribe ever given the chickens back before? I was shocked by that. But I also had a bit of a "Kids these days" feeling, in that it seemed that not one of them had the faintest clue about HOW to take care of a hen. I was also a somewhat surprised that they didn't try to eat at least one...though now I wonder if any of them would have been able to kill a chicken, much less pluck and prep it.

Did I miss a rule change somewhen where they are only allowed to have fire if they possess flint, or are they just unable to figure out any other way to get fire? I am sure that I remember past folks from Tribal getting fire via their torches they took on the way home. I even seem to recall Jeff used to say to the truly dismal tribes that couldn't make fire who left Tribale "Well, at least you will now have fire." If nothing else...they could fall back on the ol'Rub Sticks method. Or was there a rule change where your tribe must possess a flint to be allowed to have fire?

The vote could have gone either way with much the same result. Andy's an open book of an idiot who is more likely to explose your game than play it. Anika's a plotter/schemer who could backstab you. Either/or.

I agree that he makes for interesting television. The wife despises him, and wants him out, yet Rome makes for interesting television. They've admitted they don't want to cast villains anymore, so it's about time that mindset changed. I hope Rome sticks around for the long haul, as there are quite a few vanilla players this season. Out of the remaining players only a few are memorable and have been building a resume.

I was hoping Rome and Sol would find a way to cut their differences and work together, but doesn't look like that'll be happening based on next week's preview.

Not a huge fan that so many players are missing votes at tribal these days. I know it makes for scrambling, but it felt like Anika had no shot tonight. It was obvious she was going home.

No rule change, just incompetence. In fact this season we’ve seen a tribe who lost their flint start a fire from the embers they had left. This tribe admitted they didn’t make a fire that morning. Before you leave for each challenge you should build a good fire and you can restart with embers and keep it going then. Self inflicted wound there.

Tonight’s episode was one of highs and lows for Gata. After successfully negotiating a swap of their three chickens for 18 eggs, they very narrowly lost the Immunity Challenge and were sent to Tribal Council.

At camp, Andy played his role of “player on the bottom” perfectly by begging Rachel and Anika to be brought into any plan they had in the works. They fed him a fake plan — as he expected — and told him to vote for Sam.

Little did they know that Andy, Sam, and Sierra have had a top-secret alliance cooking for a while now. While there was some waffling about whether to vote out Anika or Andy (after all, Anika would probably know which side of a saw to use), Sam and Sierra ultimately stuck to the plan they made with Andy to vote out Anika. And thus, we have yet another unsuccessful all-women alliance on Survivor. Goodbye, Breadwinners.

Anika Dhar voted out last night. trackercowe takes their first hit and EldrickOnIce is voted off the island

Bit of a snoozer for a merge episode.

Not surprised that they took Rome out. He was cocky AF, and that doesn't sit well with most players these days though it makes for good tv.

I did like having only one person immune, instead of the entire winning team. That is a good shakeup I think that they should keep. Makes more of a scramble.

The vote tonight was almost so obvious I thought some how Rome was going to play an idol.

Quite the challenge tonight. Overall it's been a decent season so far I definitely am looking forward to episodes more than i did last season.

Even after the merge, Rome was still trying to pinpoint and play his game. Everyone saw his true colors when Kyle revealed the truth that he was talking trash about everyone else. It might have been a blindside to him when he planned to take Sol out, but mostly everyone wanted him out when they convened after the challenge. He took Jeff’s place up temporarily and the Teeny, Andy and Genevieve used the amulet to protect Teeny, and Rome made an amicable exit.

With Rome getting burnt, KootenayFlamesFan is voted off the CP island and mikephoen gets their first hit!

One of the earliest exits for me in CP Survivor, ouch. I picked a couple of very poor players. Rome may have tried to be a 'villain' but he was pretty bad at it. I'll give him credit though, he took it like a champ and was super nice to everyone on the way out.

Not sure who I'm even hoping to win yet. Not a lot of likeable players standing out yet. A whole lot of 'meh' which we have seen on the show for years now. Kyle, Sol and Teeny are probably the ones I like the most right now, but the cast is pretty vanilla...........yet again.

I got to a chance to watch the merge episode tonight, and good riddance to my dud of a pick, Rome. I took him pretty early too. I’m not sure what I read in his profile that I liked, because he was terrible.

He wasn’t even a good villain. He was kind of like Jar Jar Binks at the end of Episode 1. Stumbling and bumbling around while everyone around him gets downed by the chaos he’s creating.
