This teams' similarity to the 2015 team is becoming more and more striking to me. How hard they work, how fast they are - especially on the transition, how committed to blocking shots they are, how they are getting out-shot, but not out-chanced, to the swagger the team seems to have...
This is a lovable team that is a joy to watch. I can't think of a better compliment to give them than to just say they are simply a joy to watch.
I hope someday Guy finds peace, having 2 girls and 2 boys, when I put myself in his shoes, I’m impressed he’s above ground. I hope I’d have that strength. I hope I never find out if I do.
Let Him Cook

There seems no point in keeping Allan up if they won't play him
Also, Free Reichel!!!
Anderson f***ing blows and there is no reason to be playing him over Reichel
Quote:
"Free Reichel" lmao. When is the last time he played a decent game period?
Quote:
Not sure there's a single area where Reichel is better than Anderson aside from being four years younger.
Quote:
Reichel standing still on ice > Everything Joey Anderson does
Joey Anderson is literally a worthless scrub who has no business being on an NHL roster at this point
Quote:
Reichel hasn't earned a spot on one of the most barren forward rosters in the league. He isn't good enough. Whatever.
Scratching Donato is more annoying, he's been solid. Allan also sitting makes zero sense.
Quote:
Still hilarious that our otherwise abysmal power play is top in the league because of one game against the oilers

I really dig Rick Ball - so professional and an amazing voice/pace for hockey. Biggest offseason upgrade right next to Teuvo.
Quote:
Rick Ball has been a blessing. Might have been the most important off-season signing.
Quote:
He's a gem. Sounds like wideman, our radio guy and that's a great.
Quote:
First game I’ve been able to watch with him calling. I like what I hear so far
Quote:
I’ve watched the road streams for like 5+ years. The end of foley wasn’t my favorite either. This is amazing. I loved Ball in Calgary too. I’ve learned like everyone always watching the road streams. He would have been top 3 to get. Forslund clear 1 for me but after that.. maybe Ball.
Quote:
Also... what a f***ing treat to hear Ball calling the games. Vosters was vomit-inducing. This is some all-star caliber play-by-play. Maybe Vosters can watch Hawks broadcasts and learn something.
Quote:
Brand new ballgame
Quote:
He’s been a welcome addition compared to what we had
Quote:
We all love him
Quote:
He is beyond a breath of fresh air from where we came from. Super happy he is in our booth.
Quote:
Watching the Calgary feed because that's the only ####ty stream that works for me. I guess that's what this year's gonna be like huh
Quote:
Rick Ball is a pro, but I still don’t like Pang. Mainly I don’t like his Ned Flanders style and his fanboyish calling.
But I also think he was ####ty towards Vosters and it makes me think a lot less of him tbh. The difference in how talkative he is with Ball compared to how he would just go silent or be openly rude to Chris. It was petty and shameful how he went out of his way to sabotage the career of a young broadcaster.

Mrazek outta position.
Quote:
Mrazek doesn't usually lose his net like that
Quote:
Looked like he got tangled up with Murphy
Quote:
Bertuzzi looked like he was getting out of bed after a bender laying on the ice like that
Quote:
Calgary was getting a ton of good looks. Was only a matter of time.
Quote:
Mrazek isn't as locked in as last year so far.
*Desire to Connor More intensifies*

Every time Connor touches it I want him to shoot.
Quote:
Is it just me or does Bedard seem faster this year
Quote:
There is a little voice in the back of my head with Voster’s voice that just goes “Connor Bedaaaaard”
Quote:
Bedard still cheats way too much.
Quote:
Bedard too cherry picky in that period for my taste.
Quote:
Bedards gonna be cursed with the Crosby stache
Quote:
Look forward to the 50 postgame post about how Bedard has a bad shot.
Quote:
Call Stan now for Connor
Quote:
You need a goal with Bedard’s line and you throw Martinez out there. I just can’t with this decision making.
Quote:
Bedard makes really bad shooting decisions. The high quality chances he passes away and it’s pissing me off.
Gary Bettman hard at work
Quote:
Someone tell the refs that a new arena isn't the same as a new team to suck off.
Quote:
Slash on Bedards wrist leads to a slash call on Bedard. Got it.
Quote:
I think we just saw a decapitation. I'm sick to my stomach.
Quote:
Slashing? No embellishment?
You sending the Wolf?
Quote:
This is an annoying game of hockey. GET BEHIND WOLF YOU GODDAMN PUCK.

We can’t get rid of him soon enough.

It's amazing what being aggressive on the PK will do for you.

Ok boys dial it back up in the third

"Right f***ing now! Right f***ing now! That is not f***ing good enough. DIG THE f*** IN! RIGHT f***ING NOW! Whatever the f*** you have!"

Tough game. Was even. Got tired on a PK and gave up a 6 on 4. Good battle.
Scoronato with some insurance
Quote:
It was a valiant effort but the better team won tonight.
Quote:
####ing pathetic effort 6 on 5
Disgusting.
Quote:
welp. our boys were gassed there….
Quote:
Jesus Christ hit the guy in the mouth next time if he wants to keep diving in front of the puck
Quote:
Jones didn’t even ####ing try to hustle
Quote:
Frustrating game, seemed like the breaks never went our way. Still, this team and Bedard look a lot better this year
Quote:
Hawks were the better team for the game but just couldn’t get the bounces and Flames capitalized on theirs. Hockey be like that.
Losing still sucks but I’d rather watch games like this where the game could change at any moment.
Quote:
We played really well the first half of the game. Their PP goal on Bedard's penalty really deflated us.
Still felt we coulda won this game with some luck. Not bad hockey overall... we get off track at times but we had some momentum at times. That first PK we almost scored a shorty.
Improvements will come, and we ARE already more competitive.
Plan the Parade!

I want everyone complaining about Drai to realize he had one of the nicest apples you'll see, and the OT winner. He always has some giveaways and dumb penalties, that's just Leon
Quote:
Drai does not deserve the first star lol. I don’t give a #### though WE WON A ####ING GAME IN OCTOBER

Still got 23 min somehow despite 7 PKs lol

It's fun...and we should enjoy it, but like 2015, we're hurting the long-term for the short term. But it's early.
Facts, we tried to sign Lindholm, and Hanafin for big term...they told US no.
More interesting, there are A LOT of folks that thought not spending to the cap, means rebuild. Well, maybe it means meritocracy instead, or relying on youth.
Either way Uncle Murray might have stopped short running this brand as a low cost operator. He should've saved on the roster too, not just marketing, in game experience, food options, building, practice facilities, analytics, scouting, staff, etc, etc.
