Default I can’t find a whipping boy on our team

Was thinking about it today. There is not one player on our team that has been a disappointment so far. Been awhile since at least personally I haven’t had a whipping boy.

Excellent:
Huberdeau - great start and making tons of slick passes with way less giveaways
Andersson - seems like he is on a mission this year
Wolf - awooooo
Zary - kid just seems to be getting better and better
Pospisil - see above

Great:
Lomberg - comes as advertised. Ball of hate always zipping around
Kuzy - lots of points early and hasn’t even hit his stride yet I don’t think
Weegar - a few beauty shots so far

Surprisingly good:
Bahl - looking steady back there
Bean - same, these guys are reminding me of smart defensive defenseman
Pachal - continuing the trend of being somebody to count on
Mantha - fitting in really well so far, has some nice patience and chemistry with Huberdeau
Kirkland - what a story

Good:
Vladar- nothin to complain about here, 2 road games, 2 road wins
Honzek - just want him to catch a few breaks
Klapka - his games have looked great as well. I love the giant reach and defensive steals as well
Backlund - steady and good start
Coleman - same as Backlund
Barrie - hasn’t had much of a chance yet but didn’t look bad at all
Miromanov - hasn’t shown the offensive flash yet but has been pretty stable
Coronato - loved the speed today on the EN!
Kadri - decent start
So who am I missing? Has to be a goat somewhere?

Nah Huberdeaus out, all we needed to see was some heart, he's playing his guts out and he's making nice little passes everywhere.

Sharangovich has been invisible this year.

Last year, he was unbelievable, but this year, nothing

There's your whipping boy

Playing on the PK and up a goal with a minute to play. This isn’t the Huby that we’ve seen. He is playing a much better game and is really engaged in every facet.

Huberdeau asked to play on the PK. He even said when he got here he enjoyed playing the PK and it helped lead him to that 115 point season. Sutter proceeded to staple him to the bench and play him 13 minutes.

Maybe listen to your players. Certain poster crap on him like he’s the worst human ever, making dumb suggestions like he void his contract. The only thing you hear from the coaches and management has been that he cares and wants to do well. How many guys would ask to play on the PK on a rebuilding team making 10.5M. You think McDavid would do that ?

All I am saying is sustain it. Performance league 10.5 million is high contract. Nothing personal.
Get paid take the pressure. Any job is like that

I think I’d move Lomberg into excellent. Dude is a perfect fit for Calgary and plays with his heart on his sleeve- literally never takes a shift off.

Love this thread.

No passengers so far this season. Hit parade every night and the block shots tonite were noticable.

7th in blocked shots per game. Source:https://www.statmuse.com/nhl/ask/nhl...shots-per-game

4th in hits per game. Source: https://www.statmuse.com/nhl/ask/nhl...-hits-per-game

Miromanov probably struggling the most yet he is being asked to play top pair with Weegs so probably just needs some time as a role he has never had before.

I think Kadri could pass more. That’s all I got.

This is what I was gonna predict, nice to see it right in the thread haha. There will be a plethora of fans that will be chomping at the bit to jump on Huberdeau the second he falters (Flamesaddiction will be first in line). This is proof.

I mentioned my theory in another thread. Yaxstaavaal, the demon who torments the most overpaid player in the NHL, got tired of Huberdeau and moved on to Draisaitl and his fat new contract.

On the bright side, he hasn't been on the ice for a single goal against.

Well, you missed Kadri. But he’s been his normal self IMO. Tonight was a weaker game, but he’s been OK. And you left out Coronato too.
