I know this is blasphemy as a Fedfan, but I bought Rafa's Air Max Breath Cage shoes that year, and I only just replaced them this year. There were a few years in there that they sat idle, but they were built like tanks and seeing the way he played back then makes you understand why.

The Miracle in Melbourne

Also 2019 US Open was the perfect grand slam....Nadal wins the men's title and a Canadian finally wins the Women's title

I know Fed ended up winning this match, but this was a great tussle down under and this rally late in the 5th set was just incredible.

While they never met in a Grand Slam I'm so thankful we got this match between Nadal and Alcaraz. The level of tennis was insane between these two.

If you have time go back and re-read the 2022 tennis thread here, it's a wonderful little time capsule of that event and it's crazy to think how much has changed. Sabalenka having serving troubles where she had to serve under arm, Shapo and Felix making deep runs. Shapo was down 2 sets to 0 against Nadal and forced a deciding 5th set in the quarters and Felix almost beat Medvedev in the semis. Also one of the first times any of us really watched Alcaraz who was ranked 31st and was 17 I believe at the time.

The young kid Jakub Mensik gave Djokovic a battle earlier today losing in three sets after winning the first set in a tie-break.

Remember when Patrick Mouratoglou called Djokovic the best clay player ever? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

How fitting in the most unusual year of tennis we ended it with its most familiar sight......Nadal hoisting the French Open trophy

Also, it's tough to win over Aryna Sabalenka at the best of times, but when you hit 21 double faults, it's practically impossible.

Looks like Jannik Sinner wants to win as many titles as he can in 2024 because if WADA gets their way, he won't be playing much tennis in 2025.

Nice win for Gabriel Diallo yesterday in Kazakhstan defeating #72 Christopher O'Connell 7-6 6-2. He gets Borna Coric next which won't be easy.

Qinwen still has that crazy janky toss. She has the advantage of youth but if she ever wants to get over Mount Sabalenka as they're calling it, she's gotta overhaul that, maybe in the offseason.

Djokovic secret member of WADA council confirmed. He sure wouldn't miss seeing more of this

Just wondering if any of my Calgary based friends are planning on attending the Calgary Challenger this week. Vasek is in action today as is Rebecca Marino.
