but only from wrestling news sites.

On wikipedia you can click on the "comment" tab and see people discussing if this should be included or not. One comment was "Called channel 11 Atlanta - they checked with Atlanta police - NO SUCH INVESTIGATION."

Until there is a reputable source reporting this, I'd be taking it with a big grain of salt.

The WWE would be the first in line to know, it probablly take a little bit for news stations to confirm something like this with it being the WWE and all

If it was a storyline, I don't see why they would've taken down that crap about Vince's death on there website. It's kind've sad that we actually have to wonder whether this is actually a fictitious story

WOW very very big loss to the WWE. I've watched wwe for many years and he was my fav wrestler. Just a side note that it is real because Benoit was supposted to appear at a PPV show yesterday and they had to put someone else in the match, they said Benoit could not be there due to "personal family reasons"

RIP Benoit and family. By the way, what was his family? Wife and kids?

Just read an article. Wife and 3 kids however only 1 of the 3 kids was found dead. Other two are in Canada while his death was in Atlanta.

The fact that the WWE has cancelled the live show for tonight is the thing that seals it for me. I'm not a wrestling fan but I've heard too many good things about Chris Benoit to disrespect him. R.I.P. Chris.

My jaw just droped I am speechless, although I no longer follow Wrestling Benoit was one of the few reasons I hung in there after what happened with Owen and then seeing Brett move on. Very sad and shocking news considering his family also involved. RIP Chris you were among the last true old school guys who was enjoyable to watch.

Wrestler Chris Benoit and his Family Found Dead
Jun, 25 2007 - 7:20 PM

TORONTO - World Wrestling Entertainment has confirmed that Canadian-born wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and son Daniel were found dead in their Atlanta home. Nancy Benoit is known to wrestling fans as former W.C.W. and E.C.W. personality "Woman."
Authorities are on scene, and no cause of death has been released. Benoit was 40 years old. Concerns first arose when Benoit was a no-show at Sunday night's W.W.E. "Vengeance" pay-per-view. Monday night's "Raw" broadcast was scheduled to feature a memorial in his honour.

It was top story on Global news tonight...this is clearly not a storyline, but it will be very interesting to get more details on this.

Terrible stuff. Haven't watched wrestling in years, but Benoit was definitely a favourite when I did. Hope it's not a murder/suicide thing. What a tragedy.

The WWE is now supposed to predict the future and adjust their storylines based on that info to make sure they don't have any conflicts? How were they supposed to know that one of their wrestlers would completely unexpectedly die?

Look I am not a huge wrestling fan anymore but it is a little ridiculous to say they have sunk even lower because of this totally unexpected incident. One poast has mentioned that they have removed the fake McMahon death infor from their website. Tonight they are cancelling their show and dedicating the 3 hours to a Benoit tribute. Doesn't sound like they are sinking low at all. Just was bad timing and a horrible event that took place.

Very sad news.
And as already stated, very sad that Wrestling is at a point where you have to question the authenticity of such a report.
