Holy Crap!!

I haven't watched wrestling in like 8 years but Benoit was one of my favorites.

RIP Chris.

I can't believe it.

I swear any wrestler that has ties to Stampede Wrestling and makes it to the next level, via WWF, WCW or now WWE seems to end in trajic circumstances. From Owen Hart, Davey Boy, Pillman, Dynamite, now Benoit. A curse perhaps?

Dynamite is still alive, but crippled, so still trajic

wow....just wow....

Stopped watching wrestling 6 or 7 years ago, but always like Benoit. Especially with him being canadian and all. I did see the previews on the score for Raw, and it looks pretty dumb in comparison that there playing up that whole fake Vince Mcmahon death right about now. But that's a conversation to have later, right now I just feel horrible for the Benoit family. R.I.P

Yikes, my buddy is going to be devastated. Was this guy still wrestling? An Edmonton legend this man was. Not sure if he was born here, but I think he grew up here.

Edit- Doing some quick googling...and it seems he missed the PPV (yesterday?) for personal reasons, in which he had to rush home. And now he's dead? Wow.

According to wikipedia it's just an angle.

"Death Angle
On June 25th the WWE announced Benoit and his family to be dead, but it has been confirmed this is part of the 'murder' storyline that has also taken Mr. McMahon's "life""

I met Chris on a couple of occassions and he seemed like a pretty nice down to earth guy.

He was without a doubt one of the best of his type of wrestler, he wasn't a talker, but his stuff looked real, and he never hurt anyone in the ring. He considered what he did to be an art form. His idol growing up was the dynamite kid, and if you squinted your eyes while you were watching him, you'd swear he was his twin.

The fact that his whole family is gone is an even bigger tragedy.

Rest in peace and condolances to his friends and family

If it's true, then that's a real shame...

... but they're also working on an angle where Mr. McMahon was blown up in his limosine. Could be related to that?

... of course, if it isn't at all related then that story arc is in pretty bad taste right now.

I call BS on this. It sounds like it's a true story, I was reading some comments on the story somewhere else and someone said the WWE had a pay per view last night and he missed it due to a "family emergancy"

If somehow this is though, I'm even more sick to my stomach

Seeing as it's on Wikipedia were anybody can edit it I wouldnt take that too serious. Also if you go on WWE.com you'll notice everything related to the Mr. McMahon murder angle has been taken off.

I dont think its an angle, however, there is no press releasings on cnn or any of the news fronts. Only on the WWE site thus far, if that means anything.

The WWE finds a way to sink even lower, one of there longest serving wrestlers dies and it's at the same time they've been carrying on a storyline with great detail of a fake death.

It defintley sounds real though

Yeah there wasn't a source URL so obviously it was a little sketchy.

Let's hope it's true though.

Searching Chris Benoit's name in google doesn't bring up anything related to his death..
