Hartley is a underrated Flames coach. I wish they had gave him 1 more year at min.

I feel awful Rooney went down. It was a big hit by a big man going at a high speed. It wasn't dirty. It wasn't illegal. It was unfortunate.

This is a tired statement, and is completely wrong, with the new rules on vulnerability. When near the boards, and a player is in a vulnerable position, you have to hold back, you can't go into him full bore, projecting him into the boards.
Was the hit 'clean'? Yes
Did Rooney have the puck? No (not even close), so it should have been interference.
Was it late? Yes - again, interference.
Was Rooney in a vulnerable position? Yes - so it should have been boarding.
The league is trying to clean the game up, to reduce injuries, but half the time it simply ignores its own rules.

If it had been Pospisil on a Canuck, people would be crying for a suspension.

LOL at all the trash talk about Huska, while they were playing poorly. Then radio silence during the comeback.
Not at all surprised of course, and I look forward to the same comments, from the same posters, the next time the Flames are trailing.

I like how in the lead up to the games last night the discussion was all about Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto being playoff locks and are any other Canadian team good enough? And then they all proceeded to lose.... to Canadian teams.

He called some good plays in the 3rd to tie the game up. Bad play calling in the 1st that got us in the hole.

And taking shots from the blue line. I guess I don't follow hockey all that closely because I don't even know which teams are not taking shots from the point.

Lot's of teams do, but it seems like the offensive system seems to be cycle and get it to the points and shoot through bodies.
Need to get in tighter, like the Rasmus goal skate the puck in. Sitting idle at the points blasting away isn't a recipe for success.

Yeah, when they increased the shots from 5 to ~14, a lot were muffins, bad angles, low percentage. People shouldn’t be faulted for noticing that
Their goals came from making smarter and more difficult plays, a bit of jam and a bit of good fortune

Huska is proving to be an excellent coach. Even tempered, smart, and great with the media. I think he could be someone like John Cooper - a mainstay for this organization for a long while that earns respect from players, and doesn't have a short shelf-life. Yes, that's quite the comparison I realize, but I do think he is slowing proving that he is a good head coach.

Every goal we scored outside of the Weegar goal came from going in tight, or driving the net.
All the volume came from the muffins. Can't waste possessions on just slinging it from idle point shots, they usually hit sticks and skates or go into the crowd.
