Thanks Cheese, I missed seeing your GDTs!

I love the excitement of a game day. Go Flames Go, let's start the season with a W, tank later.

Klapka 6'8"
Bahl 6'6"
Mantha 6'5"
Honzek 6'4
Lomberg 5'9" (but plays like he is 6'9"!!)

I look forward to adding McQueen (6'5") into the lineup next season! (I wish).

Lots of sandpaper and lots of size in the prospect pool, alongside a lot of skill too (and with skill in some cases, which is the best combo).

I wouldn't be surprised if the Flames catch these guys looking past them tonight and take the win - the Canucks will really have to work tonight to get the win, and they just might get overwhelmed by the Flames' skating tonight. Should be a fun game, win or lose.
Agreed. Speed and size - it's a great combo, and Conroy seems to be moving the team in that direction.

The Flames have been small and soft for several years, and it's gross. I am not asking for the Broadstreet Bullies, but you have to have physicality and swagger. You have to be able to play a big game, as well as a fast game. Guys like Pospisil, Klapka and Lomberg make a HUGE difference in that department.

Looking forward to this season, much more so than the last couple of years. We finally have a direction and win or lose it will be fun to follow along.

He has been pretty clear, 23 or younger and it seems he wants younger.

A bit worried about though, Chicago might win 10 games all year. Have to see how San Jose and Anaheim look now. Thought they may have some improvement.

Prepare to be disappointed if you think we'll be lower than those three teams haha. Plus Columbus.

all that cheering against the oilers (**note - there is a HUGE difference in cheering against the oilers vs cheering for the canucks) did was reinforce how much i can't stand the canucks - soooo no good!

I'm still optimistic about Stromgren 6'3" someday making the team. He likes to use his body, too.

After his summer working out with Pospisil, Honzek is likely more than his listed 186lbs.

I just want us to score lots of goals, get lots of wins, get lots of shutouts for Wolf, draft super high, make the playoffs, and win the Stanley Cup. Small ask.

At least you're tempering expectations.

I think Honzek gets our first goal this year, and I'm estimating he pops 20 this season.

Flames have a path to bottom 5 pretty easily IMO. Dead last will be tough

Obviously the Flames' first goal will be scored by Kevin Rooney.

That's the spirit! But I strongly doubt he plays 20 games

If they can beat the Knucks and Oilers every game and lose the majority of the rest all while keeping it close and taking a pound of flesh I'll be happy.
