Dodged the bullet with Cooley. I guess Anaheim was worried he might hurt their tank.

Wow, of all the goalies they could have taken. I didn't know he was even still playing.

Cole plays a huge role for the Wranglers, that's actually a big loss

Big picture it's not a big deal, he has at best bottom 6 NHL potential, but he's going to leave a big hole in the top of the Wranglers lineup and both the PP/PK

good outcome in the end. I obviously didn't like waiving Pelletier and I won't suddenly call it a masterstroke now he's cleared, but him going to the AHL is the best thing for his development, soooo ... cool. Certainly didn't have Schwindt getting claimed on my bingo card, but good on him getting another chance to stick on an NHL roster. Good luck to him. Really happy to see Cooley clear as well.

I guess that's how it maybe lines up now? Definitely doesn't look like an overwhelming bunch.

Morton will be interesting to watch though. Some heavy lifting lined up for him this year.

Excellent result for the Flames, and best possible result for Pelletier. Now, Pelletier can get his game back in the AHL. (Based on his results in the Q, at the WJHC and in the AHL in 21-22 and 22-23 and his overall play in the NHL in 22-23, I still feel hopeful about Pelletier’s future.) Happy we keep Cooley. Kinda sad to Schwindt go, I guess.

Its actually bad news losing a center, Flames are really lacking in terms of depth at that position. (i.e. center's who can play the position and win draws).

Injuries will occur, guessing Morton is the 1st recall if a center goes down.

Yeah. The flames and Wranglers were already light on centres. That’s another centreman short.

Vegas might end up waiving Schwindt soon, since they picked up a couple of guys.

Do the flames claim him back if he hits waivers, or is this it?

If someone claims Pelletier he has to stay at the NHL level or clear waivers again to be sent down? If so, the Flames probably thought nobody would take him just to have to do that.

If he can't make the Flames when the team likely won't compete for much, why will he make any other team?

But hey, everyone over react.

Pretty sure if we claim him we can send him back without waivers

Not surprised pelts cleared. Losing schwidnt sucks. We have no center depth even for 4th line.

Haha I am not entirely surprised. Schwindt is a good 4th line center option to have. Don't think the Flames will miss much with his absence given where they are. Hopefully Pelletier proves all the hand wringers right but I think he will struggle due to his playstyle and size.
