I think the Flames are checking the waiver wire for last-minute upgrades at center.

I think Morton will cement himself as the Flames best 4th line center by the all star game. But Rooney to start the season to be conservative.

Morton's been sent down already, while Cole Schwindt is still up. Schwindt is probably higher up on the depth chart. From the comments I've seen, the team brass like him.

Schwindt is a super responsible player. I like that he is hard on pucks and plays in the tough parts of the ice. A big body as well.

With no upside, what are they going to lose with a younger center instead?

No big loss

Yeah I sure love filling the 4th line role with the worst regular in the NHL.

Can’t hate it too much since the goal is to pick top 5 anyways.

I am almost 100% Hanley will be waived and sent down. After they signed Barrie, I just can't see them having two 33 year old defensemen playing. Hanley as an LD should be easy to replace with a younger player that serves the long term interests of the team better.

From what Huska was saying at the ST presser today, Grushnikov will be on theain roster sooner than later.

He’s one of the guys I was hoping made the big club. Was hoping to get to watch him crush self centered oilers

It doesn't make sense to me to keep Klapka and Honzek on the roster. First of all, Honzek should be playing a top 9 wing position and barring an injury, he won't be playing that role on the current team. And having not played a lot of games last year, he should be getting a lot in this year. Platooning Klapka and Honzek on the 4th line doesn't serve either's development well.

Klapka belongs on the 4th line though.

I totally agree and since that is the only open forward position, Klapka and Honzek will be the two players platooning in that role. If they're going that route, Pelletier should be in that position because his game at least fits a bottom 6 role; unlike Honzek.

You don't let the situation on the Wranglers deter the decisions you need to make on the big club. That is letting the tail wag the dog.

I expect Jacob Pelletier will hit waivers.

I would be surprised if Montreal wouldn’t make a claim.

French Canadian and they can give him a good look/opportunity until Luane’s ready. Low risk high reward all day long for them.

Not sure I agree, Klapka I see as the 4th line winger for sure.

As for Honzek, he is not a depth guy,... If he stays has to be top 3 lines.

If there is an injury to Sharangovich, then I could definitely see Honzek staying around.

As for Pelletier, he is definitely not a winger, I would want on the 4th line.

Has to be on a skill line, unfortunately he is now way now the depth charts.
