I can’t lie. I used to be a massive Crue fan. I saw them live over three different decades. IMO Too Fast for Love is a punk rock masterpiece and Shout at the Devil one of the best hair metal albums of all time. Still I’m not overly interested in the over the hill version as it’s time to retire.

I was never a huge Motley Crue fan but was going to see them when I lived in North Vancouver. Until one of my classmates talked me out of it and said "Dude, don't bother. They're horrible live".
My sister confirmed this to me when she saw them a few years ago in Edmonton.
This lineup is a blend that kind of makes me laugh (311 lol), kind of makes me excited (Acid Bath!), kind of makes me confused (Flaming Lips???). Not too bad though.

probably not everyone's cup of tea, but this band has been one of my absolute favourites for a while. The whole "Shoganai" EP has been incredible ... pretty unique and fresh sound, and a lot of diversity between the songs.
Not sure if anyone listens to (or has heard of) VOLA around here, but I recently discovered these guys and they’ve become an instant favourite. Spectacular blend of riffage, electronics, and melody. New album just dropping today.

yeah, been looking forward to it. Liked all the singles leading up to it, so can't wait to dive into it later.

Funny, I just came here to post the new single they dropped, which may be the best song on the album. They are the kings of melodic metal at the moment

Oh ok, so you guys have heard of them. Weird band in the sense that a) they’re so obviously good, b) they seem super well reputed in metal circles, but c) still don’t seem very well known and all still depend on other jobs and whatnot for income. They’re one of my best band finds ever so I was a little surprised that I just stumbled upon them like, a week ago.

I hadn't heard of them but the first 30 seconds of the songs I was thinking "has a very Scandanavian metal" feel and looked them up and Danish/Swedish so made alot of senae. I like it!
I see band names that should be highlighted more than Linkin park or AFI or Queens of the Stone age.
Gojira should be neck and neck with Metallica, if not the headliner. CoF, Meshugfah should all be bigger than they're presented as well.
lol, maybe in your personal opinion but Metallica is the biggest band in the world. Like have you seen the numbers of the most recent tour? They had 80K each night at Sofi breaking Taylor Swifts record. If you want to swap somebody swap Limp Bizkit who literally opens for Metallica
The recent As I Lay Dying mass exodus has been wild. Lambesis has lost all other band members over the last week or so, and some of those statements have been pretty damning.

Unfortunately, my personal morals have recently been tested to a breaking point, and it's now the saddest ending to what could have been the greatest second chance for this band. (Ken Susi)

I feel I need to distance myself from the band in an effort to retain my personal health and integrity. (Nick Pierce)

Simply put, recent actions have shown that As I Lay Dying no longer offers a healthy or safe environment for anyone involved—whether creatively, personally, or professionally. After witnessing some concerning patterns of behavior, I’ve realized that I can no longer, in good conscience, enable further actions that could negatively affect anyone working within this space. For these reasons, I feel it’s in my best interest to completely distance myself, both creatively and personally, from As I Lay Dying. (Phil Sgrosso)
Shocking to learn that working with a guy who tried to have his wife clipped would be an unstable environment. Still seems crazy to me that he only got six years and served a whopping two.

great band though don't get me wrong
And I saw a bunch of posts from people from places like Denmark and the Netherlands flying to Edmonton of all places to see them in August. The one from Denmark got there on the Tuesday with a friend after about a 20 hour flight and said the first thing they did when they got up was start drinking which I guess you would have to do if you were in Edmonton that long. 3 full days was too long for me so I can only image what another day or two would be like.
I don't have anything against Gojira. I've seen them open for Metallica twice. But I doubt they're getting someone from overseas to fly all the way to Edmonton to see them.

This was more my point...I am a fan of both bands but we can be real. Its like when people say Megadeth should have headlined the big four. Megadeth plays at the Grey Eagle and Metallica sells out Sofi Stadium 2X.
Saw Wheel live for the first time last night here in Helsinki, good gig, would definitely recommend checking them out. Quite intense, few breaks, lots of great playing.
They're touring US/Canada next spring with Leprous, a fantastic Norwegian band. Tour dates say Calgary on April 25th.
