And from the start of last year to the start of this year I think there are only 7 or 8 players that are the same.
Ballpark 2/3 turnover.
Conman blew it up!!!!

Hope those call ups are much sooner than later (although that probably implies that we suck out of the gate)
At least the Wranglers will be fascinating to watch this season.

Lmao don't be such a goober. The rebuild just started. Signing like Mantha and Barrie are rebuild signings.

Most average nhl teams have that amount in that age bracket.
Zary and Wolf yes. Young guys with notable talent. Wolf won't be in every night though. Maybe half if we're fortunate.
Coronato and Klapka have strong chances of starting in the A.
We'll probably end up with 3 regular young players (~23 yo) that will provide reasons to put butt's in seats on a given night. Maybe 4.
Would be nice to see more. Hopefully that comes.
Bahl is younger than I thought. That's good at least.

Part of this is driven by when the Flames started to invest more in the pipeline. Those players are those drafted in more recent years, for the most part, and thus we shouldn't expect to immediately have a younger team.
Step 1: Re-build the pipeline
Step 2: Establish your younger core
Step 3: Build a contender around that core
They are in between steps 1 and 2. It wasn't too long ago this team was in the mid 20s when it came to the quailty of their prospect base. It has improved a lot, but largely the quality sits in the younger players. Not those ready for prime time.

As always, if anyone lives in the Flames region and is getting a 'geo-restricted' error, please let me know.

I know Ryand answered this in another thread, and regional restrictions aren’t up to the flames, but it really sucks these preseason games are regionally restricted. Doesn’t make any sense for marketing purposes. Why wouldn’t the NHL/Sportsnet want fans from all over the world tuning in for free hockey to get them excited about the season and hopefully subscribing to season packages?
Sometimes these big deals miss the point of growing the game and drawing in a broader audience. It’s Friday night in October and I want to watch the flames!

Yeah, for a corporation trying to grow the game, they don't seem to like to grow it.
