In my experience, not an insurmountable stretch from the lawyers I've dealt with in the past.
You might be right, but it's pretty clear the Flames want nothing to do with anything that causes publicity over this. I don't blame them. If there is a guilty verdict, the Flames can then act on it, and do something good out of it.

This is why personally don't buy a player's jerseys unless they're an elite talent or HOFer. The only player jersey I have that isn't an elite player is Backlund and that was a birthday gift from my friends when I worked at the Dome. Then again, superstars can also be exposed to the public as bad people. Look at Theo.....

I reached out to FanAttic and they only offered me a 25% discount on lettering a new jersey...so about $30 off.
Also said it would be $60 for a new Otto name bar (as long as I removed the old one myself).

Yeah....then they'll really want their sponsor's name on that baby!
Lets watch the world burn!

Dubeous. Sure, it's misspelled but it's easier to fit on the jersey.

I wouldn't get anything done with the jersey until Honzek takes over #29.

Take it for what it's worth, but I have a family member that works with someone who is a very good friend of Dillon's GF...
She is adamant that Dillon is 100% innocent. Wasn't in the room, wasn't aware of what happened, and that all of this will come out. Also stated that Dillon believes he will come back to the NHL, but would play for "anyone but the Flames" given how it was handled.
Orange Julius type stuff, and it's completely possible this "source" was fed lies as well, but I thought it was worthy of posting. I also likely butchered the story a bit, but what I'm trying to portray is that their camp believes he is 100% innocent.

then why didn't he state he wasn't in the room in his original statement, rather than "he did not engage in any wrongdoing", like every other player who was found not involved? his whole statement stunk from the start of this.
also not sure why he would think the Flames handled this poorly from his perspective? The Flames gave him the benefit of the doubt until he was finally charged - why would anyone deserve better?

Oh my god, if that is true, give me a break Dillon. The Flames let him play right up until the eve of the charges when he asked for a leave of absence. Imagine if the Flames were the only team to bring back one of the players being charged and let him play before the trial.
Anyway, I do hope it's true because fewer rapists is always better than more rapists. I assume the people being charged were visually identified by the victim though and there is some kind of corroborating evidence. I recall reading that there were a couple of other players who acted inappropriately, but fell short of the evidence required for charges, yet somehow Dube made the cut.
Also, this is exactly what you would expect him to tell his girlfriend. Telling them you raped someone is a harder conversation for sure.

I'm not sure what he would have wanted the Flames to handle differently TBH.
In the end it will all get determined in court but I'm not surprised he'd be maintaining his innocence...especially to his current girlfriend

I guess the lesson here is the next time your cousins/uncles/aunts coworkers friend relays some sensitive information, maybe use some restraint before announcing some highly questionable 4th party claims.
….or not, if tact means nothing to you.
