That Australia/NZ course was great, too bad it's gone. My other favorite in all of university was an engineering course that was the study of ancient technology. Very interesting course and what little work there was actually was interesting.

Music History 300.XX is an awesome course.

English 393 (Fantasy) is pretty fun, I took it as a summer course and it essentially turned into a book club where we read Dracula, Frankenstein, Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and more and then talked about them in class (which was nice as I have already read all those books a million times).

Naturally, all the "scopes for dopes," and "rocks for jocks" classes will be relatively easy as well.
I'm doing Fantasy right now and its great. Just have class discussion and write 2, 1500 word essays and an in class essay for a final... pretty slack class but also very enjoyable.

don't know if they have it at UofC but when I was at UofL there was a class called "exploring creativity". The first day we played freakin duck, duck, goose and tag!

Easiest A I have ever made.

Music history classes are a lot of fun and interesting. I took the history of music in the 1980s about two summers ago. For a music lover such as myself, I adored the class and wish I had taken it early in my studies. I found it much too late and graduated in the fall .

I'm not a UofC student, nor have I ever been. But I love this topic.

I know that UofC is supposed to have an excellent communication program. Without looking at what's offered and assuming that courses are similar to ones I took at CBU, Advanced Public Speaking was by far my favourite course ever. I also took a history of music course. Intro to Rhetoric was a great and easy course. Intro to Filmography another fun and easy course (sit around and watch movies, oooooh).

I find it weird to see the likes of Geophysis, Economics, and English courses listed as "fun and easy" as I don't think of any of those courses as "fun". Then again I found political science fun so to teach their own.

Good luck picking your final courses, and with your last year.

best course i've taken was GNST300/500 with Ron Glasberg...don't know if he is still teaching - but the guy was right out of 'Dead Poets Society" and the course was 'the history of ideas' essentially (think John Ralston Saul's Voltaire's s)...not really easy per se, but a great course nonetheless.

Any literature course who is focusing on authors that you are interested in...i took a Russian lit course that focused on Dostoyevski (sp) whom I was always interested in reading...

When I was at Carleton U, there were listings in the course catalogue for Gambling 1 and Gambling 2.

Unfortunately, they were never actually offered so I had to settle for Natural History. The prof was a nature boy who liked to hang out in Algonquin Park and you learn what the various animals, plants, rocks, etc that could be found in the Park. He was super into it, he wrote the textbook for the course, the exams were all multiple choice and when I took it he was actually out in the wild so they just reran the tapes from the previous term. Pretty much everyone who's gone to Carleton in the past 15 years has taken the course.

Might be a little late here but if you can, take a Canadian Studies course with Max Foran (if he's still teaching). Hands down the best best teacher I have ever had. I took Canadian cities with him (300 level course) and although it sounded dry before hand, was one of my favourite courses of all time. As a Canadian, I see things quite a bit differently now because of that course.

I'll second that! I took two classes with him. He is an outstanding professor. I've read his book as well. He's such a fascinating man and does everything the old fashioned way. He lectures and you take notes. There's no power point or teaching aids. It is just him at the podium, but his lectures are outstanding. He never shies away from any questions and loves when the class gets involved.

if you take econ take it with schlenker... dude is funny. anth 201(or 203 or soemthing i forget) was not only easy, but interesting and it only had three eually waited tests...thats all. no final and no other assignments. same with psyc 205. COMS 451 you do a research project for an actual company in a group... I got an A+ and a reference letter from the city out of it. GNST 300 is not easy by any means but it'll eat up two courses(but it'll take all year) and you will be enlightened.(but only if you take it with Ron Glasberg). Languages suck ass, and will eat up your time and your GPA.

The course had a more emphasis on western Canadian cities but the major themes of the course were:

1)The profound effect the CPR (and other railways) had on city development. This was my favourite part of the course, it is quite clear that the cities we know today are direct result of where the railroad went. In addition to that, the companies would decide what areas of land would be "rich" or "poor".
2)Urban sprawl
3)The concept of a winter city with comparisons to other winter cities around the world (mostly Scandinavian cities).

It was great, learning Canadian history from an Australian that also happens to be Grant Mcewan's nephew. He stands at the podium and tells stories while lecturing. It was easy to zero in on the key testable concepts as well because he outright told you what to focus on.

As per my last post right above( accidental uping of the posts per day avg here sorry), Glasberg is da man. I just finished his GNST 300 last year... so ya he's still teaching and still awesome. There's actually a facebook group dedicated to him.
