Ok, we'll use some data then to prove how dumb your claim is, but for the record, you are important and special here.
I saw the post about how in a one year snapshot that Forsling finished 9th in Norris voting. Now one set of data points means incredibly little, that shows little to no context or consistency to produce the same results. Forsling has been an NHL defender since 2020/2021, so a 4 year snapshot will provide the most info available to us at this time. I included the eventual Norris winner as well as the closest comparables to the lofty 85 vote points set by Forsling. Youll see below are the splits of NHL vote points as found on:
https://www.hockey-reference.com/awa...ting-2021.html
2021 - Adam Fox (743) Norris Winner
2021 - Darnell Nurse (76) LOL
2021 - Mackenzie Weegar (74)
2021 - Gustav Forsling (0)
2022 - Cale Makar (1631) Norris Winner
2022 - Adam Fox (248)
2022 - Aaron Ekblad (74)
2022 - The corpse of Kris Letang (73)
2022 - Gustav Forsling (0)
2023 - Erik Karlsson (1585) Norris winner
2023 - Quinn Hughes (101)
2023 - The borderline octogenarian Brent Burns (41)
2023 - Gustav Forsling (Ill let you fill in the blank here champ, use your favourite crayon)
2024 - Quinn Hughes (1861) Norris winner
2024 - Josh Morrissey (166)
2024 - Noah Dobson (95)
2024 - Gustav Forsling (85 whoohoo we're on the board!!)
Now this is only the year to year point totals, I dont care enough to go through and find the cumulative vote point totals over this time frame but that would all prove further to how dumb your point is. Forsling, over his career, has been a passable and young defenceman with some talent. He is not some world beating game changer.
With all this said, I do think he is a very good defenceman, but as of right now he is no star and the Norris voting over his career is on my side.
