Default 2024-25 Game Takes

Hi all,

Annual game takes value assessment.

Honestly if this season goes as I think it will I'm not all that interested in writing full game takes anyway. 82 nights writing up a 75 point season might be a little much.

Will put some thought into an abbreviated version that maybe focuses more on the key game moments, young players, and standings implications?

With that a quick poll to see if that has any value.

I voted for shorter version, but maybe I meant it to mean fewer? Like a weekly recap instead of game by game?

I read most of your game write ups so would miss them if they were gone entirely. But, I and spend more time in the stats section, specifically your fancy stats. If you choose to truncate leaving that section in would be groovy. One man's opinion.

I voted short version but I would consume short or long. Whatever is best for you, but I'll consume either.

I voted not interested, and it's not to be mean, it's just been a few years since I've read them

I'll probably watch a lot less this year if they're as bad as everyone says they will be. So short recaps would be appreciated to see how some guys are doing and which veterans are getting the pitchforks.

I read them for games I didn't watch.

With the fresh blood, I'll be watching all the games this season.

A weekly recap might be nice.

Can I vote for whatever Bingo is in the mood for? This season is likely going to be rough and repetative if we’re the draft lottery team we’re being pegged as. Keep it simple unless they play a game that inspires a longer recap

Voted shorter version on the basis that it's easier for you. IMO the Game Takes are the best content on CP and I quite enjoy the discussion that takes place in those threads.

Really appreciate your game takes, but I recognize it’s a lot of work. I’m happy with whatever you’re most comfortable with. Thanks for all your contributions to this forum.

Voted for shorter, as I already consume a lot of written Flames content. Thanks for your hard work.

I read most of the game takes and have no issues with shorter versions but this should be something that is enjoyable for you and not a chore. You don't owe us anything.

Bingo would you be more interested in the full version if a couple people shared the work load with you?

I would volunteer to help out if you wanted some help. If we stuck to a standard format, should be pretty easy to do it with a small team.

I am in the 'will consume whatever comes' bucket as well. I always appreciate the takes as they usually reveal things I haven't seen for myself. Tracking the youngsters once a week is also something I would eagerly look for.
