Flames Which prospects makes the Opening Night roster?

I thought this deserves its own thread...

Klapka for sure.

Leaning towards Grushnikov getting a spot.

Wolf, of course.

In: Wolf, Coronato, Klapka, and Solovyov if they keep 8 D

Down: Pelletier (because he didn't earn it), and Honzek and Grushnikov because they are young and waiver-exempt

Well if we count Wolf he is a lock. I think Pelletier will just because of his waiver status. That's it.

I think Klapka gets claimed if he gets sent down. Teams will see his size and be tempted.

Pelletier may get claimed and it'll be a shame, but there's other kids in the system with better skill sets.

This is a better, more encompassing thread...

After last game I would say Klapka.

Dark horse Honzek or Crushnikov.

I thought Klapka was still waiver-exempt.

Brzustewicz doesn't turn 20 for two months, there isn't a rush with him either. Wolf, Pelletier, Klapa and it's fine.

Agreed on Pelletier, would we want another situation like Valimaki for example ? Not that he would move the needle for us or anything but losing a first round pick for nothing and the player becoming a NHLer

Patience is needed with Pelletier IMO, didnt play much under Sutter, lost a lot of games in the Q because of covid timing, and last year- didnt play much and clearly rusty because of the injury when he came back.

I think he needs a full year before we give up and perhaps he can be a decent 3rd liner for us for many years. Would love that to be the case, kid has great energy and a positive attitude

Depends on who's healthy, but I think Pelletier, Coronato, Klapka, and Solovyov all make it

Is Klapka waiver exempt all season, or does he have to pass waivers if he plays a certain number of games?
