Weegar Miro
Bean Rasmus
Bahl Barrie
Pachal Hanley

Brz and Grush start in the A and are likely the first 2 callups. Give them tons of icetime along with Poirier

I believe by putting him in that group they can see how well he can carry a line as well as more PP opportunity.

Project isn't the term I'd use. A project to me is that player needing a 2nd chance or a long shot.

He's the best prospect in the system bar none. Just got a little wake up call is all.

Love that attitude! Doesn't expect to be gifted a spot because he's a high pick. He sees the level of play he needs to get to and it's a challenge he's excited to take on.

Looking at the lines in the main group, I guess they wanted to try out some different line combos, and Zary was extraneous to trying those combos. I don't think it is an indication that they're unhappy with his play so far.

I really like that Zayne described the camp as "humbling". The kid isn't afraid to learn.

Still the best prospect, just needs another year.

Now we will see the rubber hit the road in terms of Grush and Brzustewicz.

If I were the guy handing out roster spots I'd make room for that pairing.
That's bad asset management IMO. They can be a decent pairing for the Wranglers, and both are waiver exempt. I'd rather see what we have in the waiver eligible guys, and potentially trade some of the depth D before the two get a callup.

I thought Parekh was going to make it a lot harder for the Flames to send him down. Not that he was bad, but I thought he would stand out more. Going back to the OHL was the best decision anyway.

Or maybe they just want to give Pelletier a game with Backlund.

-Give Brz, Grush & Poirier top minutes in the AHL and call up when possible.
-Need to make space in the next year for at least two more rookies in the D core (Brz, Grush)
-Look for a trade for Anderson this year, see if anyone wants Barrie at the TDL

Bahl's interview is interesting, I know you cant read to much into it but he sure gives off a vibe of not being happy with the trade.

Do you blame him if he is? Goes from a team on the verge of competing to a team starting it's rebuild. Also, could just be the way he talks

The "it is what it is" wasn't in regards to the trade.

It was in regards to the question being "unfortunate timing of wanting to get some ice time with the new teammates and missing the start of camp"

Think he was sick of the third straight question about the injury.

I'm not going to read too much into it but...he often repeats "I'm really excited" in the most monotone manner ever.

Follow-up tweet from Danny Austin - Zayne reaching out and learning from fellow high draft pick Honzek.
