Biden has approved $1B in emergency relief funds to Florida. Trump said he’d withhold federal relief funds for California wild fires because he hates Gov. Newsom and Democrats. That’s the difference between a real president and a whiny, petulant brat.

So one could say it’s just a “concept” of a watch?

Zelensky meets with Trump after all. Not suite sure why aside from hedging his bets, otherwise Trump and the republicans are a disaster for him and will sell out his country within months of the election.

I imagine Trump was happy for the PR aspect of it, but its a no win situation for Zelensky. If he refused it would look bad on him and ensure bitterness from Trump if he wins. So he likely accepted but didnt believe a word coming out of the liars mouth.

For sure trump was happy with the pr, and once zelensky is here he probably doesn’t have much choice. His better option may have been to stay away

Hmmmmmm. Women are losing reproductive rights and the ability to have control over their bodies in general. Minorities are being attacked and vilified at every turn. Voter suppression is happening across the nation and it is not even being done on the down low. A very influential think tank has a plan to turn the United States into an authoritarian dictatorship. But the discussion is about a ####ing watch being used to grift the cult? Focus has been lost.

That seems to be a problem with not only the American electorate, but humanity in general. Most only want to pay attention to things that are entertaining and amusing, and ignore everything else.

Laugh all you want, but Canada is not far behind. I would argue Canada is in worse shape in many ways.

Curios position to take and this may not be the best thread for it but I’m having a tough time agreeing with you here.

I mean Canada is not the greatest but at least there's no convicted felon running. Is that what you are getting at?
Or at the very least argue away!

It’s not really a problem. It’s a basic function of being a human being. People like to laugh at things even in the face of bad situations.
Literally every one of those things has also been discussed here in the last week (or two) in some capacity of another. Seeing a few posts laughing at a watch and suggesting everyone is ignoring bigger issues is nonsensical.
So much so that you could probably lump “focusing on what a few people say on a message board” in the same category as “focusing on a dumb watch.” Neither are as important as reproductive rights, and yet… here the two of you go about it.

It’s still a half decent escape hatch.
I wouldn’t say it isn’t far behind. It’s pretty far behind. There are some similar sentiments what with the next PM being Trump-lite but there are also more guard rails and a lot less “die hard Conservatives” in the same way there are “die hard Republicans” in the US. A lot of people that will vote for the Conservatives in the coming election voted for the Liberals in the last one or the one before that, and will probably vote Liberal again in 1 or 2 elections time.
Provincially it gets kind of wacky. But Canadians generally seem to like change fairly regularly and mostly vote parties out instead of parties in.
Canadian elections also come down a lot to who Ontario and Quebec like at the time, and both provinces are very much “what have you done for me lately” provinces. Conservative strongholds like Alberta have very little say, thankfully.

We are behind on the sociopolitical problems but our economy is worse. If we catch up on the sociopolitical and our economy stays worse, I can see us being worse overall.

Nah, we just don't wanna spend every waking hour watching YouTube videos telling us #### we already know. We thankfully have people like you to do that for us. Keep up the good work.

I'm fortunate that I could bring my job to Canada. I have reservations in doing so because my kids were born down here and therefore have their friends and roots here in the US.
Otherwise I'd have been long gone by now.
