Wow, sounds like the Flames had quite the night. Those kids are alright! Sounds like Conroy basically can't under any circumstance send down Coronato or Grushnikov...

Ahhh...yeah thats absurd for 1st preseason game.
Just looked at the box scores. Seems like the Flames were very deliberate in making sure every one got close to even playing time which is what it should be in such games.

Watching the Cooley interview had me rolling.
Talk about a kid who just speaks his mind and loves what he does, 0 hockey cliche answers, absolutely speaking his true feelings and laughing the entire time it was hilarious to see his reaction.
"Its basically just fling yourself to the puck and hope it hits you"
I like this guy!

Kuznetsov also had a really good game.
Going to be an absolute battle for the 5/6/7 spot on the backend this year. Can't remember the last time we had so many capable defenders in the system. Backend lacks top end talent but there are essentially 10 players who can play NHL calibre hockey..
I think the wheels are coming off the Josh Brown experiment. Good thing they immediately locked him up for the next three years to anchor the blue line:
It feels like there is actually a lot of skilled forwards on this team. I expect the Flames to struggle at keeping teams on the perimeter in their own zone, and keeping pucks out of the net, but I am getting the sense that they could score a lot between Huberdeau, Mantha, Sharangovich, Zary, Kuznenko, Kadri—oh, and that's without even mentioning that Coronato looks like he is on a mission, or that Bucklund and 30-goal-scorer Coleman may be manning the third line.
It could end up being a really fun year, even if they miss the playoffs by a mile.

You're right, the Flames look like they have some skill up front. That said, they are still hurting for an any situation stud center it will be interesting to see how our offense does.

The Flames apparently tried to sign this guy. He is one of the worst defenders in the entire league. Not sure why the Alberta teams had so much interest in this guy.

He looked good when he was here in Calgary. He wasn't going to be any higher than a 3rd pairing guy but he did well enough as a 6th/7th defenseman.
