Larsen doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who will take too much crap from reporters or try and sugar coat things. Short but substansial answers and moves on.
Having been a head coach before and under Torts for those years, he knows the routine a bit more and doesn't have to make sure he's careful choosing words and/or stepping on player or media toes.

I like how the Oilers homer down plays the Mantha goal. "Wide open net, he'll never score an easier goal". Ignoring everything that led up to the goal. That was some pretty elite passing by both Mantha and Huberdeau to make the net wide open, and I am sure it wasn't easy. Also Honzek with a sneaky 3 assists tonight.

You could tell that the commentators were preparing for days in anticipation of a celebratory beatdown. And that is exactly what happened, but not as they had planned.

TBF, I thought that was more a complement on the pass.

I don't think that was downplaying it, it is just a way of saying it was such a nice passing play that he had the entire net to shoot at. There is very strong implication there of "they absolutely embarrassed the defense on that one"
It feels like there is actually a lot of skilled forwards on this team. I expect the Flames to struggle at keeping teams on the perimeter in their own zone, and keeping pucks out of the net, but I am getting the sense that they could score a lot between Huberdeau, Mantha, Sharangovich, Zary, Kuznenko, Kadri—oh, and that's without even mentioning that Coronato looks like he is on a mission, or that Bucklund and 30-goal-scorer Coleman may be manning the third line.
It could end up being a really fun year, even if they miss the playoffs by a mile.
