You can contact the government's project coordinator and let them know your thoughts: https://www.alberta.ca/south-bow-river-bridge (scroll all the way to the bottom and there's an email link)

Just brutal, push both sides down to what appears to be one center lane? Look how few cars are getting through. Couldn't they have done one side then the other?

Are they ever going to increase the speed on TCH leaving/entering the city? Got, like, 8 lanes doing 80. Why'd we spend all that money to end up with slower speeds? What moron is in charge of that one? Who do I shake my fit at?

Gridlock this afternoon. Monday mid-afternoon.
People just take it. Hard to imagine say Texans putting up with this.

Please keep hammering the government on this one. The more people that keep asking the better. You can email the same person I linked to for the Bow bridge project earlier.

OMG, don't get me started on the ramp from 16th Ave East to Stoney trail North on the west side of the city. It has a posted speed limit of 60. It's so ridiculously slow, for the design it's painful. And there is always a photo radar truck parked there. I'm convinced he's flashing the ramp and not 16th ave east as you would expect.

That is soooooo painful. I think they leave a single pylon there to make it "construction". It was ridiculous during construction and now even more so. It is sooooo overkill. Anyone who ever says "but if it saves just one life..." needs to get punched in the taint.
It is physically uncomfortable and difficult to drive that slow.

Recently?
No photo radar allowed on Stoney Trail. They could be flashing 16 Ave itself (City road?), they are not allowed to do the ramp.

The 80 speed limit is ridiculous. It’s a ####ing highway.
16Ave 90 drop to 70 once you pass the lights up to 80 on the TCH and up to 110 when you finally take the exit.
How do we complain?

They must be flashing 16th then, it's been there the last 4 times I've travelled that road (always on the weekends coming back from Calaway)

Eastbound dedicated lane for Chapparal now open. Left two Stoney lanes closed now. Total gridlock again.

I’m not sure why more people aren’t just avoiding that bridge during peak periods for the time being. I live in the area but I’ve basically avoided it for a few years now because it’s been such a gong show. That being said I can’t wait for it to actually be done/useable.

It's not like SE Calgary is lousy with bridges. Which way should we go to go east/west or home west/east to get across the Bow? If 11:40am on a tuesday in September is a peak period...
Deerfoot south bridge to Dunbow road and back up 2A? Paving from Dunbow to 194th on 2A.
Deerfoot North to Anderson? Ivor Strong bridge construction.
Stoney to Glenmore? Glenmore, Deerfoot construction.

The bolded is the one I would recommend. The paving on 2A causing lane closures has been primarily at night during the week, or on weekends.
I’ve been using that route for years now and even though it may take a few minutes longer it has been very consistently reliable.
If you’re heading southbound on Deerfoot and need to get across, heading west towards MacLeod at Southland/Anderson/Bow Bottom and then getting back on the ring road from southbound macloed bypasses the bridge too.
Even taking Glenmore west all the way to the west ring road usually takes way less time than going through that mess and is generally pretty flew flow, mind you you’re driving extra kms this way.
Obviously with any of these options it still might take a little longer to get to your destination but it’s better than sitting in construction gridlock everyday and taking close to the same amount of time or way longer to get to your destination. Less stressful too.

That's always been my mindset. I'd rather drive for 5-10 minutes longer, but it be free flowing and easy breasy, vs sitting in gridlock. Cruise control and tunes vs stop and go and getting cut off by strugglers in Honda's, easy choice
