Lol thanks
For whatever reason can't get that name out of my head - Etienne Morin is the guy I'm surprised didn't get into one of the 3 games.

Wasn't he a Pope or something at one time? Who is this guy?

I am surprised as well. I wonder if it's possible that he is nursing an injury or something. Maybe nothing major, but enough that they don't want to make it worse by making him play. Just speculation on my part.

Surprising that Grusnikov and Brz would get double duty before he gets a game.

The Morin thing I can't explaing but for Parekh and Pelletier, is there a limit in how many games the team can play players in pre-season? I thought that was a thing, at least at one time. That would explain why Parekh and Pelletier don't get into one of these games tonight if that were the case. They do want to get a good look at all their players too so not everybody gets to play every game anyway.

So how long into tonight's game are McDavid and Draisaitl paired up?
I see they're dressing one less forward to accommodate Conna's extra ice time as well.

Why are they sheltering Morin so much?
A lot of us here have high hopes for that kid and would like to see him in pro game action.

I had one CPer reach out to me last night that said they couldn't watch the game, despite living in Calgary. But multiple people have said they couldn't in this thread, which concerns me. Let me know if that was the case for you and, if you're comfortable sharing it, send me your postal code via PM.
The one thing the NHL told me last night was that VPNs are often the culprit. So, if you're running one and aren't able to watch despite living in the Flames region, disable it, then try again.

I mean, there are two plausible and basic explanations... He's banged up. He has not looked good in practice.
Your hopes aren't really factored in I'm afraid.

I'm not nearly as tuned into camp as in past yearst to know how he's looked in practice.
If he's banged up that checks out.
I'm sure Conroy et al share the same hopes for the kid, which is what made it all the more perplexing from afar that he wouldn't start the first 3 games.
Sharing info without condescending undertones usually works but you do you.

Might possibly the oldest lineup in pre-season split squad history.

In years past, I'd always found it relatively easy to pick which one of these split-squad I wanted to watch most but this year, with all the promising youth, I want to watch both equally.

Definitely. I am going to the game tonight, but I would really like to see the other one as well - anyone know if it will be available afterwards?

So that should work in reverse tonight then, the VPN. If you're in the Calgary if you use your VPN you should be able to watch as it thinks you're out of region.
I was able to watch last night on the Flames website and I live in Calgary.

The restrictions will work the same as last night. I'm glad you were able to watch the game as expected. To clarify: Are you using a VPN? The circumstance we ran into yesterday was people using VPNs, but living in Calgary, and having the game blacked out. I don't want that to happen to anyone!

Matt Savoie in Calgary is going to be a reverse version of weekend at Bernies where only 1 guy is puppeteering a whole bunch of geriatrics.

What's up with the regional blackouts? Is this an NHL policy, or does it have to do with stream quality?
I assume there are good reasons for it.

Both G and B showed really well last night. Might be why.
