In 2020, that was the slowest part for me. Both that time and a previous hailstorm, the repairs were done November-ish.

Intact. Based on the timeline they gave we should be hearing from someone in the next few days to set up a time.

Vehicle has been checked and pretty much dealt with at this point.

I am aware, but that is still nuts that it has taken so long.

Dumb question, but what am I looking at if I hop on my roof to check for damage? I'm pretty certain that my roof is OK, but I wouldn't mind taking a look. My roof was supposed to have around 5-10 years left and it looks OK, but I guess I should hop on top to inspect it and file a claim if necessary. I didn't see hail larger than quarters when the hail storm happened.

My buddy finally got an assessment that his roof is totally destroyed and needs replacement. His vinyl siding was brutalized which is why he had an insurance claim in the first place. He didn't think much of his roof even though he could see it from his bedroom and there was just minor bits of material on the ground. He was surprised that the guy included it because the roof had been considered badly dented by the hail and should be claimed (no leaks he noted on the last few times it rained, but we started wondering if winter ice/snow would be the stuff to really wreck it). He said his community had hail occasionally around the size of loonies and twoonies which was bigger than my community.

Our roof was brand new, done 2 years ago with high quality grade 3 shingles. After inspection the adjuster noted enough damage that it qualified for a full replacement. We had lots of small holes in our siding as well, but not completely shredded, and no damage to any windows for a comparison

It better not be like this when I go to New Orleans in late October!

My gf is coming, she's never been, and I can tell she thinks it's practically Katrina-like conditions there every year. I keep telling her it's not, and that's more Aug/Sept stuff, but all this activity lately isn't helping my case..I think she's actually dreading the trip at this point lol

On heavy hurricane years it's always a gamble, big ones can show up late in the season.

Is Onside Restoration doing the repairs? I found out a few years back that Intact actually owns Onside Restoration. I don't understand how that's allowed and not a conflict of interest. It's in Onside Restorations best interest to come up with as high a quote as possible, which then leads to higher insurance claim and higher future premiums to Intact. I told Intact I would not be using Onside and got some second opinions and there were several items that were being claimed needed remediation in my situation that were completely fine and not needing replacement at all.

Well that's reassuring... FWIW, the original reason for the trip was my S.O. has tickets to Taylor Swift there at the Superdome. She's so popular right now that she probably controls the weather, even mother nature wouldn't dare mess with her at the height of her powers.
