Laver Cup is complete for day 1 and we're all square at 2 points each. My favorite stat of the day is the following:
Zverev matches played - 1, Zverev points earned - 0

Frances kicks off day 2 by beating Meddy for the first time ever. It went to a super breaker as they split the first two sets.

The teams split the first two matches as Charlie defeated Ben Shelton in straight sets. All square at 4 points each with a singles and doubles match to come in the evening session.

Team Europe won the opening doubles match to trim the lead to 8-7, but Big Ben Shelton just defeated Meddy to put Team World just one match win away from the Laver Cup.

I'm willing to sacrifice the Carlitos final match for a bonus Z.E.D. on his home turf

Team Europe takes the Laver Cup. Carlitos takes the decisive match over Taylor Fritz.

All five guys who represented Canada for the Davis Cup Group Play-Offs in Manchester have committed to playing in Malaga. Also, here is Team Spain who Canada might meet in the semi-finals...

Here are all eight teams for the Malaga finals - No Zverev for Germany and no De Minaur for Australia. Italy and the States are bringing the big boys.

Shapo is playing a challenger event in France this week while Felix is playing the Japan Open (ATP 500 event) in Tokyo. He gets Yoshihito Nishioka in round 1.

Shapo with a straight-forward win 6-3 6-1 win over Benjamin Hassan at a challenger event in Orleans, France. Just kept the ball in play and played a very controlled match. Not sure if something has finally clicked mentally that if he plays this way, he'll win a lot of matches as we've seen these kind of false starts previously, but hopefully he stays with this approach.

Shapo follows up a pretty good performance yesterday by losing to young kid Alexander Blockx today in three sets 6-4 6-7 6-2. The 19 year old played a fine match, but he also got a ton of help from Denis today. Just so inconsistent from game-to-game, it's really tough to understand.
