Good thing the RCMP control and operate the CFP, clearly they know what they're doing.
Remember, only police are qualified to own firearms.

But it will still result in a Conservative government, so the "PP is even worse" part feels ensured by their tactics.

A submachine gun I get.

I wonder if they were seized weapons, and then lost? Or if they were RCMP weapons? Journalists these days, I tell ya. Missing out on the good questions!

I'd have to think machine gun = select fire rifle/police carbine/M4. i can't imagine them having anything bigger than that.

I would classify that as a rifle.

Yes, but don't forget the same base rifle, the AR15 is the scariest thing on the planet.
In civilian hands = machine gun/assault rifle.
In Police hands = Police Carbine.
I really hope the RCMP aren't carrying around and losing anything bigger.

One thing the future PM of Canada can do to inspire confidence for those that have to go along with his administration is . . . Do what every other party leader in Canada does and get top-secret security clearance. I think Elizabeth May does a good job addressing the concerns in the video below.
For a guy who is all business and tough on crime, he sure is quiet on foreign interference, which is becoming a very high profile problem in western democracies. Something has to be up because this shouldn't be that difficult for a career politician who knows the procedural side of things and is frothing for the top chair in the country.

This can't be overlooked. An election hasn't been called and an election campaign is not in progress. Once an election is called and campaigning starts more will come out about PP's reluctance to get top-secret security clearance.

I can think of a few scarier things than an AR15.
Perhaps I am getting caught up in semantics.

PP's stance on Ukraine, Trump-like rhetoric, and the groups he cozies up to (convoy dummies) should all be pretty huge red flags in terms of him possibly being influenced by Putin/Russia.

It’s interesting to me that the most vocal bipartisan critics of Liberal party who were ringing alarm bells over foreign interference have been so silent on the Conservative party’s refusal to take it seriously within their own party. I would have assumed they would be frothing at the mouth over this. I would want to know:
- Why PP lied about his reason for not getting clearance
- What is the real reason he hasn’t pursued clearance or why he has been denied clearance
- How much foreign influence impacted the Conservative leadership race, who has been implicated, and what is going to be done about it
I tend to believe it is likely no worse than the foreign interference involving the Liberal party, but the secrecy, lies, and complete lack of action by PP is making me question whether it’s safe to believe that at this time.
