There seems to be some drama going around with Mark Robinson in NC with a big story pending from CNN about him. It sounds bad enough that there will be a lot of pressure to withdraw, but it's too late to put someone else on the ballot. That seemingly could help Harris a lot in NC.

Quote:
“The main ones I remember were that they were alleging he made some extremely racist comments about Martin Luther King, referred to himself as a Black Nazi and used antisemitic language referring to Jews,” Williams stated in the text message.

Robinson denies making those statements. “He 100% denied it when I spoke to him,” says Williams.

At a lunch with business owners in Charlotte this week, Robinson said he is very pro-Israel and denied holding anti-Semitic views.

...
The Carolina Journal, a conservative-leaning Raleigh publication, cited sources with direct knowledge as saying that members of Donald Trump’s campaign are pressing Robinson to withdraw from the governor’s race because of the pending CNN story.

It's all connected and it goes back to the Bush administration.

Bush/Cheney got the ball rolling on just...ignoring political norms for personal gain. They started wars unjustly, while not bothering to find out how to pay for it. They wrecked the American economy with both wars and short-sighted tax cuts, while also being literal actual war criminals. They skipped over so many political norms that it just became accepted by plenty of people in this country that a government could do whatever it had to do: killing innocents, spying on its own citizens, etc.

The Trump types now look back on those days as when America was strong and protected itself, not the absolute embarrassment it should be seen as.

Let's be very real here: in a lot of ways, 9/11 really did ruin America. It set up distinct battle lines for many Americans, especially conservatives. Not that America didn't have a storied history of racism before that, but 9/11 ratcheted it up to a vastly higher level, and Bush and the GOP's reaction to those attacks has direct correlations to how we've gotten where we are today.

It's really easy to look at the chaos of Trump's 4 years and let recency bias whitewash the disaster that was the Bush presidency, but make no mistake, he was still one of the very worst presidents this country has ever seen, and I would argue that Cheney was far and away the worst VP.

Now mind you, a second Trump term - with the kind of power he would now feel entitled to, what the sycophants he'd surround himself with encourage him to do, with a compromised SCOTUS - could be far worse than the Bush era. But his first term (if only due to his own incompetence and the checks and balances of the adults in the room) wasn't what the Bush administration was.
Newt Ginrich is your culprit. He really started partisan politics and 'bringing down the house'

Sources with direct knowledge have spoken with Carolina Journal on the condition of anonymity and said that Robinson is under pressure from staff and members of the Trump campaign to withdraw from the governor’s race due to the nature of the story, which they say involves activity on adult websites in 2000s.

Hmm I wonder if he is going to outed

But a lot of the dirt about him is already publicly known. He's literally on the record as a Holocaust denier. If they are trying to force him out it surely has to be more than just "he's a porn addict" or something to that effect. Now if it's child porn, different story.

Source familiar w/ forthcoming CNN story says revelations about Robinson include him saying things in online chats about liking transgender porn, peeping inside women’s locker rooms while he studied at NC A&T and wanting to own slaves. #ncpol

Ahh I see why they want him to resign, they want him to replace Vance as the VP nominee.

#### Mark Robinson. He's an absolute monster who's said things like this in the past.

It seems like he can withdraw by midnight tonight, and NC GOP can name a replacement. Probably can't put the new guy on the ballot, but he will get the votes made for Robinson.

I'm guessing Democrats hope he just stays on the ballot, even if he resigns later. He's way down in polling already.

Because it's a grifters paradise. As long as you remain a hardliner and pledge fealty to the Orange God the cultists will line your pockets, forgive every misdeed no matter of disgusting, and keep on voting for you. Would be fascinating to see a study of how many billions the cult and the related have grifted off this whole thing.

GOP primaries will always go to the most depraved, deplorable, lib baiting candidate with no chance to win in a competitive election.

They had to ditch the primary for convention in VA to pick a governor candidate with a chance to win.

I have to think that the GOP was sitting on this and using it as a threat to try to get Robinson to resign. Now they are trying to force the issue by releasing it and hoping he'll resign today before the deadline.

I honestly don't know what sticks as a story these days. Trump has said and done way worse and his cult following just rises.

Trump could literally murder a puppy on live TV and the MAGAs would say “yup, that’s my guy. Puppies suck. Kill them all!”

He wishes they would bring slavery back?

What a garbage human being. Didn't he speak at the most recent RNC?

I don't know, seems pretty average for a GOP politician these days.

That's probably the saddest and most damning thing about this: #######s like Mark Robinson used to stick out. Now he's one of many.
