Ok I am not a fan of Francis either, but this is the first I have heard of this.

Also this is the first time I have heard Kadri talk about the rebuild, everything else has been just rumours.

He has been out of the spotlight a bit. The only players that have talked about it have been Weegar, Huberdeau and Coleman that I can recall.

It’s absolutely pathetic. Enough players say it organically (which is great and feels good) that I don’t know why media has to prod for that answer so often with these loser “tell us how you feel about BEING HERE RIGHT NOW” questions. Like the two outcomes are forcing players to reiterate constantly that they like the city and the team and the fans, or catching a player who doesn’t and getting your juicy little soundbite.

I am just going to take the positive out of that quote and from guys like Weegar that they believe in the young players we have, and the plan Conroy has for the team.

They have won, been part of divisions that have won, surrounded by elite young talent so they know what it takes to win.

Francis is a moron everyone knows that.

I find it interesting that Duehr has the spot we all had Pelletier in.

I thought Duehr was kind of in Huska's doghouse last year. However, he was on an absolute tear 2 years ago, he was the perfect 4th liner that year. That's one of the biggest camp battles for me.

Another battle I like is the one for the 4th line C, Rooney, Schwindt, and Morton. I'm kind of cheering against Rooney, but only because I want a prospect to take a step.

Finally, with Bahl missing some time it might create an extra opening next to Andersson, and on the bottom pairing. It will be interesting to see which player stands out, selfishly I'm cheering for Solo, and Kuzy.

Sure. Players are probably annoyed by Eric Francis—that seems likely. But the claim was specifically that after players have left the city they have also continued to publicly mention him specifically as one of the reasons why they are happy to be out of Calgary. As if Eric Francis is is such a prominent media figure in the NHL with such a notorious reputation that players actively seek to get away from him by getting away from Calgary.

This is flatly untrue. It has no basis in fact. It's nonsense. It's misinformation.

How do I know this? Because Eric Francis is not special. There is AT LEAST one Eric Francis in every NHL market, if not many more. Players know this. Whether or not they are annoyed by his questions, they are also keenly aware that it's part of the job—a part that DOES NOT CHANGE with any market. Why would they talk about Eric Francis EVER, when there are literally hundreds of reporters just like him that every player has to deal with?
