Lots within here, but Johnny's stall will remain with his jersey this season. Home and away.

Monahan's full media availability also near the end. He's sitting beside Johnny's stall... I don't know how he held up. I'd be an absolute wreck still having to talk about my best friend

Columbus Blue Jacket's plans to honor Johnny and Matt this season:

https://twitter.com/user/status/1836416278606541074

The Columbus Blue Jackets today announced preliminary plans to honor and remember Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau prior to and during the 2024-25 National Hockey League season.

Beginning with the club’s first preseason game at the Buffalo Sabres on Monday, September 23 through the duration of the 2024-25 season, Blue Jackets players will wear a special sticker on their helmets. The sticker is blue with gray trim and features GAUDREAU, two doves between the numbers 13, which Johnny wore throughout his career, and 21, which Matthew wore at Boston College, in white.

For Columbus’ first preseason home game vs. the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday, September 25, a moment of silence will be held in remembrance of the brothers. In addition, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation 50/50 Raffle, presented by Kemba Financial Credit Union, will be open for all four preseason games through the second intermission of the regular season home opener on Tuesday, October 15. Proceeds from the cumulative total raised during that time will go to the John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation.

Beginning with the club’s first regular season game at the Minnesota Wild on Thursday, October 10, and continuing throughout the season, Blue Jackets players will wear a patch featuring Johnny’s number 13 on their jerseys.

In lieu of the club’s typical Opening Night activities, the Blue Jackets will celebrate the memory of the Gaudreau brothers when they host the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers at Nationwide Arena on Tuesday, October 15 at 7 p.m. ET. All fans in attendance that night will receive a “13” patch like the ones players will be wearing on their jerseys.

Traditional Opening Night festivities, including the Opening Night Plaza Party, presented by Nationwide, player blue carpet arrivals, etc. will take place prior to the Thursday, October 17 home game against the Sabres. Additional details of activities planned for both games will be announced at a later date.

This season will be gut wrenching for so many of us. Players, coaches, fans, everyone involved with the game.

Just a little thing. We divide up our season tix with a client who takes some games. A year ago I received the home game spreadsheet from the Flames and immediately picked the Columbus game. I have mixed feelings this year. So tragic.

I have a framed Gaudreau jersey, I would love to buy one of these patches to include in there as sort of a tribute.

Classy move by Torts and the Flyers. Still can't get the footage of him crying at the end of the funeral out of my head

What was Torts' connection to Johnny?

Or was that just part of Philly representing itself at the memorial?

Say what you will about Torts the coach, but Torts the human being has been likeable to me for some time...

Torts has become more likeable lately for sure.

Plus the Flyers are kind of "Flames East" (Flames-Flyers and Oilers-Penguins will forever be bizarro world twins in terms of rivals getting gifted generational talents).

So hopefully the Flyers have a good season

What I learned about Torts from his brief time in Vancouver was how amazing he was as a person. I also realized as awful as he can seem to be to his players, he would go through a ####ing wall for them.

Just remembered Mangiapane was often referred to as "the little guy" by Johnny. Hilarious.

Wasn't he already hired by the Flyers in some capacity a while ago? Maybe I am dreaming, but I seem to recall something like that happening a couple of years ago.

Edit, it was actually for a youth team associated with the Flyers. I just remember seeing the headline posted here and missed that detail.

Uh...completely agree.

When I was a coach I was very much the same way. Hard but Fair.

In practice you work hard, in games much is expected. But when push comes to shove? Always has your back.
