Unfortunately, we're in the scale grading era of politics. Bush was basically prime Lincoln compared to Trump. It cannot be understated how much it sucks that the neocons of the previous era are effectively getting a bath of how horrible they were because they aren't Trump and don't support him.

Yeah Trump looked okay for a couple years because he was well setup by 8 years of Obama...then #### hit the fan
The silver lining of god forbid him "winning" again would be the absolute disaster. The looks on those rednecks faces when inflation and gas prices are still high, jobs are down, no wall, still taking our jerbs, ect. ect. ect. Then who will they blame for their #### lives?
I'm no Trudeau fan but it will be funny when he is gone and things still sucks for truck nuts guy

They'll still blame Democrats, immigrants, and the media. These people are mindless idiots.

There are ample examples of the Bush administration skirting U.S. law to enrich themselves and the people around them. I don't like Trump, but let's not start romanticizing one of the most murderous and ethically bankrupt regimes in U.S. history.
Trump could spend 3 terms in office and would have trouble accumulating a third of the body count and geopolitical strife that the Bush admin is responsible for.
You have to put Trump's term in context, and looking at Project 2025 will help you understand what happened during his term. Trump's body count is lower only because the bureaucrats around him stopped him from doing the craziest ####. He wanted to turn the military against Americans and was stopped by staff. He wanted to use nuclear weapons and was stopped by staff. That's why Project 2025 re-introduces schedule F so they can get rid of all those people.
Trump started with his transition team not realizing that they had to staff many roles in the government. They thought that they could inherit the Obama staff. It took them years to figure out how to truly get their agenda done.
You could also probably successfully argue that what he and McConnell did to the judiciary laid the ground work for autocratic rule. Nevermind his incompetence around Covid and how many deaths can be attributed to his mismanagement of that, though that is harder to directly correlate.

1. Never apologize to anyone about anything
2. Never admit defeat under any circumstance
3. No matter what people are saying, follow your instincts.
I had a boss like this before. He once offered me advice that you should always deny, deny, deny even if you are in the wrong because people will at least respect you for being strong. But then he was also the biggest hypocrite because he would pass on his mistakes to be under him and call them out for not taking responsibility even when they literally were not responsible. He very much reminded me of Trump and makes me think a lot of ruthless businessmen just follow the same strategy.

No former president or vice president endorses Trump...including his own (his current vice candidate called him Hitler)
40 of 43 members of his administration do not endorse him
There is a reason, these people know whats at stake

He also borrowed money to cover the cost of massive tax cuts, doing this during a period when the economy was relatively good was insane economically

^ These are very important things to point out. This post can't be repeated enough.
The "but Bush!" posts around here to give cover to Trump are getting a bit irritating. Is Bush running for president? Is Bush in charge of anything anymore? Is Bush relevant anymore? No. This thread is about Harris vs Trump until the results roll in, then it'll be about what happens thereafter. Bush was a massive POS, but he's in the dustbin of history now. And that's exactly where Trump belongs too.

It's only relevant because the Democrats are putting him and Cheney out as being morally righteous for voting for Kamala. They aren't good and decent men just because they vote for the right candidate. They're ####ing ghouls who deserve every bit of the vitriol that Kissinger got.
