Currently working my way through Station Eleven. It's giving me The Leftover vibes. I think just because of what becomes of the world. It's a very good show so far and I'm enjoying the way the story is slowly being unravelled.
Banshee seems to be getting a lot of good praise. I watched the trailer for season 1 last night and it didn't overwhelm me. I don't know what about the trailer it was but the entire show seemed...cheesey? Or maybe that's why it's so good? But I'll give it a shot since everyone is saying it's good.

Station Eleven started so well, but I found it fizzled at the end when the story and characters started to contradict themselves.
It gave me more of a Oryx and Crake vibe, which I'm still hoping gets adapted into a series.

It's definitely a show you don't want to take too seriously and just enjoy the ride. It's hyper-violent, and has all the feelings of a gritty, graphic novel.

Couple shows i just watched that are worth mentioning here:
I have already briefly mentioned it, but finally wrapped it up. Everyone needs to watch the Patriot. I think it's a hidden gem that appears to finally be catching on (on Prime):
Also, for fans of Alan Partridge, he did a tv show in 2019, that is like a morning talk show. Hilarious all the way through if you like his style:

I really liked the first season of Patriot- Low key humor is my thing but haven't started the second season as of yet. Big fan of Bad Monkey for the same reason although I thought the most recent episode was a bit weak

It's solid. Loved the book too.
It was interesting to see a post apocalyptic show with some positivity.
I do not understand the hype for Colin Farrell as Penguin. It’s certainly a brilliant make up job but could be any number of actors giving a similar performance under there.

Man The Penguin was such an easy layup, but they managed to mess it up… maybe it will get better, but I doubt it. Nothing about it makes me want to watch more… Disappointed.
Penguin was excellent. I’m so burnt out on most comic book/Star Wars properties this seemed like a completely unnecessary cash grab. I thought the trailers were meh. It was a very pleasant surprise.
They actually made a really good show, despite some of the cliches. Colin Ferrell continues to give a performance bested only by Heath Ledger in terms of comic book villains. He would not be out of place in the sopranos. He perfectly captures that version of the character.
I was very sceptical of the casting of Sophia but the actress turned out pretty good. She’s got the crazy eyes down, that’s for sure, even if she plays it a lot different than her comic book counterpart.
I don’t even mind his sidekick. He’s a good way for the viewer to experience the penguin character.
I figured I wouldn’t make it past episode 1 but find myself looking forward to the next one.
