Icon27 Dallas extends Esa Lindell (5 years, $5.25M AAV)

Surprised no one made a thread for this yet. I think it's a nice contract for one of their core players. Always out there on PK.

Tough contract I am sure most folks would agree, paying money for a guy in his 30’s who is only going to get worse.

Lindell has been remarkably durable in his career - he might be up there for active ironman streaks. I believe Burns, Suter, and Suzuki might be ahead.

I don't know if that bodes well for his long term durability.

Stars fans seemed down on his game last year but still a needed piece for them.

The bigger signing is getting Harley signed for 2 x $4M. Some risk on his next deal but getting him cheap until you have Seguin and Benn off the books is a big help

They had no cap space to extend Harley long term. They're finally feeling the squeeze of the Benn/Seguin deals. It will mean Harley signs for a higher amount next time but if he continues to take steps forward he will be worth the money.

Lindell, signed until 35 for 2nd pair money which is the level he plays at right now anyway. It's not an amazing contract but I don't think its too punishing and Lindell will be good for at least half the deal.

He sits tied 26th (170)

Backlund is 8th (264) and Kadri tied with Lindell with 170

They offered a 5-year deal with a pay cut. Tough to understand the difference, I’m sure.
