His skating has always looked effortless because he’s silky smooth, don’t think he needs to change anything in terms of skating style as in fact the Flames drafted him because of these attributes. I can promise you he’s not taking anything lightly, the kid took less than 12 days off all summer and graduated high school at 15 so he could focus on hockey. I think your severly undervaluing his dedication and desire to be in the NHL.

I don't think my comment is much of a criticism. I have no doubt in my mind that he will be an impact NHL player. I just thought he was closer to being a professional than what I've seen so far. I think one more season in the OHL + a year in the AHL will be the best way to go in terms of development. In those couple of years, I think polishing off his D Zone play would be at the top of the list. This is a very common improvement point for young dmen.

The complaints about Parekh being casual is funny.
We want elite talent, but we want to beat the skill out of them?
You're going to have to give up something in order to get the talent on the other side.

Yeah, thought he was two years out when they drafted him and people were just getting a little too excited. it is too bad we can't go right into the AHL

Ignatijew is really calm. He’s been great the whole time he’s been in. That goal against was greasy

Honzek is playing?
I've greatly soured on this pick. I think the Flames scouts got a bit duped with this one and the small sample size.

Lol, I see that having even constructive criticism about Parehk is going to go well for the foreseeable future.

Before his assist on the Parekh goal Lipinski had a great defensive shift. Just pestered a guy a long the boards causing a turnover and breakout chance. Great stuff. Of course, great puck control and patience on the Parekh assist. Also loved seeing Laing in front of the net.
Was Laing the Inginla recommendation?

The dude who scored for the Canucks has played 2 full seasons in the AHL and 8 games in the NHL at 23. A bit silly to be playing guys like that but maybe im in a grumpy mood today lol

I think they were in his ear. Now that you are ii the big leagues, its best to score when you shoot it at the net. No wonder you're the coach!!

I see this is aimed at me. Sure he can clean things up. We drafted him to be an offensive player, not Robyn Regher.
He’s going to turn it over, we will have to live with that.
Just like the complaints on Huberdeau turning it over. Skill players are going to make plays and sometimes it doesn’t work out.

He wasn't making a skilled play. He was making a lazy backhand pass to no one behind his net which turned the puck over.

I hope they get in Parekh’s ear in between periods.

Lots of good players. Wranglers will benefit from it.

The 24 draft class aren't even out of the gates. It's our first chance to see what's what with these players.
I understand the appearance of Parekh looking too casual in the D zone but I think it's more accurate he's still processing positioning where's he been instructed to be.
The two bad cough ups he had two games prior where indicative of that. He's learning on the fly he's got to move quicker and think a lot faster at the pro level.
We will see at main camp if he's absorbed and adapted the lessons he learned from this tournament.

More than that, he was the MVP of the AHL all-star game last year. So... yeah, kind of a ringer.
Although he's nowhere near the oldest dude at the tourney.

Laing was the Iginla pick. It's appearing to be a sneaky pick. Kids got a good mind for the game.
