Think Zayne Parekh is being sent down for sure. I thought he was closer but I think his NHL arrival time will be 2026-27.
He’s not physically mature enough.

That sucks about B. I wanted to watch him again.

When Parekh stops skating and does his little "non chalant" gliding around, I think he's not going to be able to do that at the higher levels. He's got to change his game a tad bit to reduce the amount he does that. I feel he's also a bit careless with the puck at times. Maybe just because it's summer scrimmage hockey but I felt like he was more careful with the puck during the last season.

Nice to see the canucks dressing their AHL team again like last year.

He plays like it’s beer league. Someone needs to get in his ear. This is your job now.

The Flames went 7-13-0 after the trade deadline last year. That was with Kyllington, Markstrom and Mangiapane. They got 14 of a possible 40 points. If they play at the same rate despite their most recent subtractions they will finish with 57 points. That is good for 3rd last in the NHL last season.

I think everyone who gets a night off has proved that they are ready for the next test.

Everyone who is still playing has something to prove before camp starts.

You definitely see weird trends in hockey. I remember right after the Huberdeau trade and Kadri signing the media was saying that the Flames were a Stanley Cup contender. We all know how that played out.

He hasn't even had his first NHL training camp - give the 18 year old kid some time.

I don't think he's not taking it seriously or "reading his own press clippings" as you've said a couple other times in this tournament.

He's an 18 year old kid that takes a lot of chances / risks, and what we've been told is that management and coaching staff told him coming into this tournament they didn't want him to tone down his game or play less risky.

They want him to learn how to play that game within a structure and just improve the decision making, not eliminate the creativity and risk taking from his game entirely.

Also I think Flames told some of these guys to just have some fun but don't go too crazy and risk injury - it's meant to just be a bit of a warm up if anything.

How many of the guys in this lineup have more than 40 games AHL experience?

They aren’t doing their job as coaches if they aren’t in his ear about focusing

I think it's more likely that they brought 8 d-men to Penticton, so the plan was always to have 2 guys come out of the lineup each game and only 2 play all 3. Parekh and Mews are the 2 18-year-olds, so it makes sense that they're the ones who play all 3.

Morin with a great D play followed by a beautiful transition that ends up as an assist.

Sure but again too many unknowns. What if Barrie has a good camp and looks like Barrie of old? What if Dan Vladar takes a big step now he is pain free? What if Wolf has a great full season? What if Kuzmenko has a big year? The talent is there We don't know what Miromanov is yet after a full off season and a healthy knee. Jake Bean still has upside. There are many young guys that could take another step at forward. There are just too many unknowns.
