Back to the topic, I spot the Costco embroided logo (big logo across the front) sweatshirt at the NE Costco today.

The sweatshirt itself is well constructed. The logo? You decide if it is your thing or not...

If it is a well made and comfortable hoodie and the price is within my budget, I don't care if it has a logo on it. When it's a hoodie day, I'm usually not dressing to impress.

Wearing it is fine but you shouldn't have to pay for it.
You're advertising their store, it should actually be a free promotional item.
This is like paying for a Molson Canadian t shirt that comes free with a 12 pack.

Based on your logic, anything that has a visible logo on it you consider an advertisement for the company and should be free?

What about the car you drive? How about your Flames jersey? They all have a logo on it. We should get them for free, right?

If the hoodie is only $25 but has the same value as a $50 or $75 hoodie, then it's kind of the same thing. I probably would rarely wear it out of the house to be honest.

I'm not rushing out to get get one of these, but I can see why a $25 hoodie of decent quality would be appealing to someone, logo be damned.

I just dont want to be asked by Randos 'if I work here.'

I've done my bit with that, thanks.

If you buy a Costco branded hoodie, don't wear it to Costco.

i think the real answer is you're just upset they don't make one big enough to fit over the a&w bear costume you keep hidden away in a closet!

can you imagine... you'd be swarmed - people would think costco is giving out free samples of grandpa burgers!

I assume every mid-40s guy with a beer belly in a Flames jersey actually plays for the Flames so going to games is very confusing for me.

I would maintain that most people would rather talk Costco or some adjacent topic than their boring jobs or politics or whatever you're supposed to talk about at these debonair evening gatherings you're all hosting...

I prefer to discuss how the Brahmin Left have abandoned the working-class for the ivory halls of academia and are primarily made up of Laurentian Elites, out of touch with how Canadians live.

The options for conversation aren't boring topics or Costco hoodies, unless you run in completely boring social circles. I just hang out with interesting, fun people where the conversations are upbeat, funny and engaging throughout the afternoon/evening.

Personally I like that “grocery stores and adjacent topics” is being framed as a “not boring” conversation theme and how hard of a self-own that is.

Speaking of that, does anyone else struggle to fake interest when you get in conversation with a boring person/group discussing a boring topic? That's one of my biggest struggles, is that I can make it through while looking interested, but I'm just dying inside.

There's people at work and other places where I genuinely like them, but they start talking and I just want to blow my brains out while they drone on about whatever monotonous topic they've been thinking about that day. I feel bad avoiding them but it's just too much with some people., to the point it actually drains my energy.

Tom Segora nailed this one. "Do you ever meet someone so boring that it feels like they've poisoned you?"
