Good entertaining game.
Although unfortunate, that happening to Parekh is a good thing in the long run. This is exactly the place to learn from your mistakes and Parekh is extremely smart and harder on himself than anyone.

I didn’t get to watch the whole game, but I liked Basha and Gridin. Basha was aggressive, quick and skilled. Gridin showed some high end skill.
Parekh looked nonchalant, but I also saw vision and playmaking.
One player I didn’t really notice was Honzek…Did anyone else notice him standing out? Maybe I just missed him out there.

Not much in the way of standout players in that game, but thought Basha, Mews, and Stromgren presented well enough. Was mostly impressed with how quickly the Flames' team cohesion came together after the first 10 minutes, which were a scramble.
Arena was only maybe 20% full which made for a laid-back atmosphere.

What does Parehk have left to learn in Jr?
How to play defense.
Very good but still so raw

I agree with that. I thought Morton was our strongest player. Bruz, Basha and Lipinski also good. I’ve yet to see Honzek make a play in any game.

Generally speaking, Morton, Brzustewicz, Stromgren, Bell and Lipinski looked good.
Parekh struggled.
Grushnikov and Honzek looked very bad.
I didn't notice a ton of Matvei Gridin or Andrew Basha, so I'd be interested to hear you takes on how they look.

I liked Bruz, seems very smart. Not too fast but seemed to know where to be offensively and defensively.
Mews seemed to get much better as the game went on.
Basha seems like he can play a skill and an energy game.
I like Lipinski a lot but he'll really need to improve his skating.
Bell also very good. Similar to Lipinski except he can skate.

I liked how involved Basha was. He was chippy and was pissing off the opposition, especially in front of the net. Hope he plays like that in the pros, and brings an agitating game.

Gridin looked ok in two zones, but still does too much puck watching in the defensive zone.
I was impressed with Misa’s speed and vision, but glad to see him paying proper attention to playing a responsible game.
Lipinski will be a force when he gets his skating up.
I’ve never seen a player improve his skating as much as Ciona has. In his draft year, he was slow enough to be left out of the draft.
With the players we left on the board to draft Honzek (namely Musty and Ritchie), I hope he shows something soon.
I thought my boy Battaglia struggled in the first, but looked better as the game wore on. He still has a lot more to show.
Mews likes to stay in the pocket as much as he can. Looked better as the game wore on as well.
Bru had good and bad moments, as well as some excellent ones. Very smart, with a good shot but needs more speed.

Not even just from his draft, but it's a night and day difference from last season too.
When he made a rush up the middle of the ice in the first and Wills said "Ciona" I was like "that can't be right"
Whatever they did with him needs to be the new norm in improving people's skating.

I keep telling people that Danielle Fujita is worth her weight in gold. She’s performed miracles with guys like Ciona, Pospisil, and Zary to name a few.
