Work is ahead of schedule. Hopefully they can get water turned on early. They worked 24/7 even through the long weekend.
We need a lot of white hats.

Whichever citizen has the most 311 complaints about water usage should also get a white hat imo.

Is this not a 24 hour op anyway? Weekends shouldn’t matter.

Interesting breakdown of supply from the two water plants.
https://twitter.com/user/status/1833176209624011157
At 30%, Bearspaw may still be producing up to 140 ML/day. So likely there isn't a significant drawdown (if any) from reservoirs given that Glenmore's maximum output is 400 ML/day.

Bearspaw is still the primary supply source for a significant part of the City.

I dont know whats in the water right now. I live 3 blocks from the glenmore rez and my water is super chlorinated and has a brown hue to it .
I wonder if i will have superpowers soon? Or maybe i already do? I was feeling especially chipper when i walked out of the house today and several people said to me " hey look at you ... you have a glow about you today"!
I said yes of course ...extra spicey mexican last night ....hou know those beans beans there good for your heart the more you eat the more you Edmonton.

The 2023 water use stats suggest residential consumption is 48% of total on average. Didn't look into seasonal variation, but let's say that holds true.
450 ML target daily consumption on a population of 1.67 million with a 48% resi factor gives a daily personal water use allowance at home of 130L/d or less.
Typical resi service will provide a flow rate of 10 GPM at the tap, which means about 3.5 minutes of total water time per person per house each day.
Am I super out to lunch here?

Yes, you are out to lunch. "10 gpm at the tap"? That's a big ####ing tap, dude!
Typical showerheads have 8.3-9.5 L/min flow limits. Typical bathroom faucet is about 3.8-4.5 L/min. Typical kitchen sink faucet is 5.7-8.3 L/min. Typical modern toilet flush is 4.8-6.0 litres per flush.
Flushing the toilet three times per day, 20 seconds of handwashing each toilet use, a 10-minute shower and using the kitchen sink for a minute = ~126 L. Less, if you have more 'efficient' fixtures.

I think a big waste is the old toilets. I still have mine and they are like 15-20 liters a flush so double to triple the water usage and it’s a lot of wasted water. I moved the floats down a bunch to help but there still not close to a modern fixture

Throw a couple of bricks in the tank? Turn off the water supply to them and use used bath water to fill the tanks after flushing?

I place a couple of empty glass jars into the tank (no lids). They fill with water and reduce water usage.

Yes, those are a HUGE waste of water. Honestly dude, toilets are so inexpensive now you really should just get a new one. I replaced an old 20 Lpf monster with a new 6.0 Lpf, and new toilet paid for itself in less than three years.

Oh God yeah, those things are pigs. We replaced all of the old toilets in our house over time.
New ones are dirt cheap and simple to install, usually come with dual-flush option, more efficient in terms of filling the tank...really the worst part is getting rid of the old one.
