Nash was listed 274, but the Oilers had him at 13

Common Sutter! ARGH.
because it's Lowe?

The Flames and Oilers making a trade?

I doubt any other team would have done that.

It's REALLY strange to see posters critiquing picks and trades at this point.

WAY too early to evaluate players.

I think some posters are looking at draft rankings as the end-all-be-all.

Trade partners and who was what where and how far down they wanted to go.

Ah, this draft is too entertaining in the "hilarious" kinda way. There's the clown like antics of Cherepanov, there's the slickster in Espo that no one wants...but surprisingly taken by a team that has too many of his type. There's Kevin Lowe...

What more could you want in a draft?

Common Sutter! ARGH.
Because no team was that desperate for that draft pick?

Seems like common sense.

Exactly the move up the draft only has as much value as how badly a team wants a player. Nothing more.

Still can't believe the Oilers blew a 36th pick to take him... Draft is a crapshoot...Nash could have still been there at 36th.

You have to be more specific. 274 by who?

Odd, I really thought Edmonton would go after another defenseman (Petricki, sp?)

It's obvious they received word he would get drafted before 30 or they wouldn't have made that deal.

Based on Lowe's interview and the players selected today, it's pretty obvious Edmonton is now picking players based on where they are born rather than how good they are. I really like Nash and I think he's a pretty good pick but I had him slotted in with Edmonton's 2nd round pick.
