It definitely costs me strokes. I know it’s kind of lazy, but I do that “well I’ll just hit with this club and “take a little off/add a little” rather than going all the way back for the club I should be hitting.

I do this too - and also when hitting out of the trees or something and you catch a tree on your backswing. Lots of time to stop and start again. But no, I'm so talented that won't bother me at all. And then the absolute shock when the shot is crap!!

Rainy day in Cranbrook today - ended up playing St. Eugene twice and moving the Wildstone round to tomorrow.

Shot 80 and 84, missed a little 2-footer for a 79 in the first round. Redeemed myself with the exact same putt on 18 of round 2 for $60 in skins.

I'm standing on the fairway of hole #7 at Nanton waiting to hit my second shot on the green when I hear a thud! I look down just to left of me and there's a golf ball about a foot off my left foot. Guy on the 6th tee box failed to yell FORE when he hooked his driver. ####### never drove over in his cart to say sorry and or apologise.

I played St. Eugene's last weekend. Middle holes worked for me, it still ended at about 100. Consoled myself in the casino by losing $20 on slots and the Saturday beef stew special

I would be there if I was in town.

Two of my friends played in the Wednesday Pro-Am and they said it was amazing.

Rough day today at Shadow Mountain and Wildstone. It was hot and the greens were insane compared to yesterday at St. Eugene. Wasps galore. Never seen anything like it.

Made $5 gambling and shot 94 at Wildstone but we won’t talk about the Shadow Mountain round. Had some accidents out there.

Great day. Trickle Creek and Bootleg Gap tomorrow.

I had a similar experience today and maybe I'm an ####### but I was on the green of a short par 4, 301 yards from the white and blue tees, it is a big dog leg hole and reachable but not an easy drive because you can't see the green from the tee because of marsh and vegetation. I was putting out from about 4 or 5 feet when I hear a thud and then a ball actually hit me on the shin after the first bounce. It would have obviously rolled off the green if it didn't hit me but it ended up on the green maybe 30 feet from the hole. I ended up picking up the ball and putting it in the cup. On the next hole we were on the green and buddy behind us drove up to the green to ask if we saw his tee shot from the previous hole, obviously looking for confirmation of a hole in one. I told him it actually hit me in the shin while I was putting and he apologized and was probably disappointed he didn't actually get a hole in one.

Years ago, in my late teens, I was golfing Vulcan with a buddy. We had just started taking the game up. It was a busy day, and we were backed up. We come up to #6, and there's two guys waiting there. We start BSing, make freinds and they are like "hey, wanna make it a foursome?" We say sure. So my buddy tees up his ball, and says he's gonna Happy Gilmore one. One of the other guys is leaning up against a tree directly 90' off the tee box. Buddy runs up and smacks his ball, hits it right off the toe. The ball, like a bullet, hits the trunk of the tree head high about 10" away from our new freinds face.

They didn't say a word. Tossed their drivers in their bags and drove off to 7. Way to make new freinds.

Got back from Cabot a few days ago. What an incredible experience. I highly recommend anyone to do it if they get a chance. Links was great but I loved the Cliffs. Definitely needed the caddy, he saved me quite a few strokes. Can’t wait to go back.

My course in Nanton is doing it's annual and very popular Glow Ball Night Golf Event on Friday night September 6th. Event registration spots fill up quickly and the popularity of this grows each year as members and guests get to experience this and want to play the following year.

Anyone played HeatherGlen this year? Is it walkable?
I was booking for Saturday and $68 +$24.50 for cart seemed reasonable. Been probably 10+ years since played there.

Played it on Friday, definitely walkable. It has some very narrow fairways, so be ready for that.

May be too early to ask (I myself am going to be playing right until courses close) but does anyone have some favourite spots they go to practice and keep fresh over the winter? I still want to do a range or something once a week through the snowy months to keep the clubs swinging, but just curious which ones are worth it/open and heated.

Golf Future I think is where most of my golfing acquaintances go

While waiting for my T200s from Titliest, I took my specs to Sub70 and ended up getting a full bag. Really enjoying them so far.
Also picked up a mlm2pro and set up a practice/simulator in the backyard. Loads of fun, and the metrics and video playback seem really helpful. Just gotta get after it and practice more. Crazy to see how much clubheads deflect on off center hits.

New neighbour moved into the house across the street and he has a golf sim in his garage. Looks like I need to make a new friend.
