I wont be able to help as I rarely go to games, but unless he signs with the Oilers (he, wont, he has too much integrity) I will never not cheer for Monahan.

I said it in the vigil thread and I’ll say it again. I hope Backlund scores the first goal of the season, or Andersson. And I hope the refs let the team and the crowd have their moment.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. I knew Eddie Vedder is a big sports fan and hangs out with some former players (he and Chris Chelios are apparently good friends). I figured this tragedy would be on his radar and he might mention it when going through.

After hearing more and more stories about Johnny off the ice, it really makes you appreciate him as a person. Here in Calgary we got to witness his greatness on the ice but it’s been humbling to hear about the kind of son, father and husband he was.

Having guys like Conroy and Ryan Leslie tell stories on a more personal level showcases him in a light that I never saw before. It also makes it much sadder to realize that two great lives were cut short unnecessarily.

I’m incredibly proud that Johnny was a Flame and I’m sure his legacy in Calgary will never be forgotten.

I don't know how to just carry on being invested in the Flames this year normally. It feels wrong.

I’m not just saying this because I’m sure everyone has or will.

I honestly thought he would be back here in a year at most. And it’s hard to accept that there is no way he ever will.

I think it seems easier. The way the Flames and this forum have responded to this tragedy makes me want to get this season going.

But everyone responds differently.

Didn't know if i should start a new thread, so just adding to this one.

Funeral and service are at 10am MT today. Will be streamed via Flames website and app.

Unfortunately I can't watch as I have a meeting then, so hopefully they have a recording.

Good morning everyone. We'll be pushing the stream live at 9:30. I'll share the link here when we do.

Edit: As for the recording, we have people on site that will be recording it. I'll be doing it from Calgary as well, but it won't be as good of quality. Hoping the on-site guys can deliver it fast so everyone that is unable to watch live will be able to soon after.

Oh boy, as if it couldn't be any more real. Seeing those 2 coffins....####.

These boys should still be basking in the afterglow of their sister's wedding. Not....this. That poor family. Damn, RIP boys

I feel so horrible for the family. They should not have to be doing this today.

Just heartbreaking.

Believe that was Mangiapane, Monahan, and Hayes as three of Johnny’s pallbearers. Man.

Poor Guy and Jane - every parents worst nightmare. It's been tough this past week, but seeing the family and their pain makes it hurt even more.

#### the guy who did this - POS doesn't even deserve to have his name typed.
