How many fans drinking 6-10 draft at the Flames games or tailgating at a Stamps game do you honestly think take a Uber home after the game?

6-10 dome beers? I have diarrhea just thinking of that. 10? You would be Leonardo Dicaprio in Wolf of Wall Street. You would have shat out your stomach lining at 6.

How many people drinking 10 beers in 2 hours can actually walk to their car?

If I remember correctly the worst part about that whole incident was that the women and her dog were burnt alive in the car. 3 years for that makes your stomach turn.

I didn’t see that statement (as opposed to the drinking admission) - can you link it?

Interesting talking about the lack of penalties for reckless driving leading to vehicular homicide. But we are surrounded by people doing intentional wrongs and getting off easily too. Penal system sucks. Just does. You can't incarcerate everyone.

As someone who drives in New Jersey relatively often, it happens to me all the time (someone passing on the shoulder -- at full speed). Drivers in that state are the absolute worst. Road rage, no patience, passing on the shoulder, backing up if they miss an exit, etc.

It's mentioned in this news story towards the end:

Not to mention, its either Draught or Tallboys.
6-10? I'm a bit of a drinker but that'd have even me on my ass. Drive home? I wouldnt even be able to open the door.
I usually stick to 1 per period...maybe less. But then I never drive to the Game. I always take the train and then get picked up at the station near home.
Although last time I will admit, the train was pretty sketchy.

I know in some jurisdictions, there can be spectrum for sentencing when it comes to drinking and driving. I think there are cases where someone makes poor decisions. They thought they were fine to drive and underestimated the effects of alcohol and there are tragic consequences.
In this case though, the guy was literally drinking while driving. He wanted to get the effects of alcohol while operating a vehicle. It wasn't an unintended factor. Add to that the dangerous driving, it wasn't a case of misjudgment and bad decisions. It was the highest level of selfishness and disregard for the lives and safety of others.
I will be absolutely floored if he doesn't get the maximum allowable sentence, and even that won't be enough.

I'm in the same boat.
When you start drinking your judgement is impaired and "I'm Fine" is the most common thought.
But drinking while driving? Naw, I'm not havin' that. You know what you're doing.
Throw the book.

If I drive I’m having one, two if I get there early and have a drink before the game starts.
If I’m even considering having more than that, I got a ride or took the train down. The decision not to drive is made before I leave the house or work.
Six means you’re there to get drunk, which is fine, but you don’t have six by accident.
Ten means you have a problem.
Honestly, if you’re driving home after three (assuming 3 drafts at 5% each) you’re an ####### and at risk of getting your car impounded (not to mention the risk you pose to others). Six puts the average male at twice the legal limit. Ten puts them at 3x.

Or you're in for good time!!
No good stories start with milk and a salad!
And thats all well and good. So long as you're not driving.
Like I said, I never drive to games. Because I plan to drink and parking and traffic suck. I always train it and get picked up or cab it from the station by my house.
Its way cheaper, a ton faster and completely riskless.

Why restrain yourself? You can drive at any BAC and it's Calgary Transit's fault.

Moneymart at every quadrant. VLT's in the concourse. I could see the Flames owner Jabba doing it.
