I blame this catastrophe of a current government on moderate conservatives who didn't do their homework on the party (or intentionally refused to) and still voted for the UCP. There are many on CP who were for them, and now are conveniently nowhere to be found in this specific thread. And now we have over three years left still of Marlaina and her band of intellectually-defunct goblins attacking this once-great province and trying to burn it to the ground to appease a redneck few.

Not just funding cuts, the government also acts on their own whims to destroy entire industries based on nothing but ideology. Why would any business want to operate in a province like this?

The moderate conservative is a myth. They pretend to be moderate when they talk to decent people in the real world but they keep voting for the most reprehensible form of conservatism offered to them. Yes, those people are to blame but no, they are not moderate.

The funding was, in fact, not secure.

We were talking in a legal context; whatever formal process had occurred previously was for a different alignment. Also, Kenney's gov't passed a bill saying they could pull the plug with 90 days notice.
But it would be pretty neat if we could sue politicians for such baldfaced lies.

We should merge the federal, provincial and municipal threads. It will be the lowest engagement thread ever.

Thank god for that, I hope they ban Sasquatch next. Shaved ape might end up signing with the oilers if he commits a sexual based offence.

Those Pocketbook Conservatives are not commenting because the only issue they care about is doing just fine. The low tax, low regulation environment is what puts the cash in their bonus envelopes. They are not appeasing the rednecks, they are taking advantage of them.

Have pocket book conservatives gotten anything yet? Flat tax isn’t back, regulations have been made worse for solar and are the same for O+G.
There have been a distinct lack of subsidies for things like Carbon Capture which would reduce costs to producers.
So right now they have done #### all for the pocketbook conservative.
When we get ####ty government we are supposed to at least pay less tax.

They believe that when their conservative overlords aren't able to give them the promised bounty, it just means that the NDP would have been even worse for them financially. Somehow.
