The accident was posted at happening before 8:30ET, so likely not as dark as it was in the photo from the investigation.

By the looks of the video, it is at a dark rural area with heavy rain where the incident happened. It is highly irresponsible for anyone to ride a bicycle under those conditions.

Or, perhaps, no one in the Gaudreau camp feels it's necessary to debunk an internet rumour. That's not a bad sign in itself - I'd be more worried reporters are starting to think it has legitimacy.
