I was kayaking on the reservoir on Sunday, and it was as topped up as it can possibly get.

A lot of rain expected in the Calgary area for the next day fortunately, enough to hydrate the lawns and garden for a bit and replenish rain water stocks.

And remember, the most important part of not following the restrictions is to tell as many people as you can rather than just calmly going about your business.

I mean the dozen or so underground reservoirs full of treated water. Levels in each fluctuate day to day, and I think it's rare for them to replenish to full capacity in the summer. But a couple days of lower demand with the system fully operating would let you get them topped up, giving more wiggle room throughout the repair.

So my point is if they planned to top up Monday and Tuesday and then shut off the pipe on Wednesday, they could conceivably push the shut off back for a day or two

The first rule of lawn watering club is to not talk about lawn watering club.

Oh no, are we going to have a swimming pool attached to Fort Protest this month?

Looks lie we got a freedom/QAnon dude right here in the thread, lol. I just picture him and all the neighbours looking at each other with smug, firm looks as they do their part to make sure they don't do their part when TEH GOOBERMENT TELLS ME SUMPM!

I'll also be top dressing and overseeding before it ends.

Hilarious, you couldn't be further from the truth and I'm a little annoyed you don't know that. Guess I truly am forgotten by many.

I'll skip a shower to water the trees when I need to, and I'll even do it after midnight off peak. Hell, I'll be away from Calgary 6 weeks of the next 10, so even more water saved! I may even use those savings towards the trees again, the horror!

But ya, here's my water usage compared to last summer.

I'd say I'm doing good. I'm just not going to out right obey every single rule. I'll still conserve, but to not use a hose, nah... to me it doesn't make a difference if it comes out of the shower head or the hose, it's all about how much is being used.

I agree actually. If you have new grass or new trees you HAVE to water it.

I am laying grass in the next week and I'll be using the hose forsure. It's a ridiculous rule where they aren't allowing new trees or new grass to be watered. New trees and new grass must be watered.

I understand everything else but these two should be relaxed. Not like a lot of ppl are planting new trees and grass.

In my case I can't avoid laying new grass. It has to be done and I need it to not die.

Ha! @blackarcher, I actually posted that really harshly as a gag, I remember you from when you used to post more back in the day and I know you're the exact opposite of what I described. Figured I'd just bust your balls.

Ah frick, you got me then. I relied too much on green text to tell me that, it's a lost art.

I’m doing my part in saving water during the restrictions. I’m changing my routine and will be turning the taps and showers off between uses for the next month.

I wonder where you could get some non-potable water from....the very same City perhaps?

Beyond just the water restrictions, kinda wild to hear about all the people watering their lawns this morning. Do they not have a weather app and see what's coming overnight?
