Two sport stars:
Mike Tyson - young lady accompanied Tyson back to his hotel room where later accused him of rape, Tyson claimed the sex was consensual but was convicted of rape and got 6 years.
Kobe Bryant - A young hotel employee accused Bryant of raping her in his hotel room, first Kobe claimed he didn't have sex with her but after finding out she had taken an exam that yielded physical evidence, a semen sample, he changed his story and stated that the sex was consensual. case was dropped when she was unwilling to testify, and of course the terms of the later settlement were not disclosed.
Tyson will always be known as a great boxer and rapist, Bryant went to his death as a sports hero with a statue in front of the Crypto arena.
Moral of the story, the boys and hockey canada didn't give her enough money.

I don't think you need quotes around victim in this situation.

It seems that Dube and Sharky are still in touch. I doubt he meant Solo, because I'm pretty sure he stayed in Calgary this off-season, I could be wrong though.
Not sure if I should post it here, but someone might be interested (google translate version).
Quote:
The Canadian striker gave his first comment after arriving in Minsk.
- On the way to the arena I looked at the city with interest. I was convinced that it was very beautiful here. I'm glad to get to work and prepare for the start of the season.
- What do you know about Minsk?
- I know that Dynamo fans are wonderful, the large Minsk Arena is filled for every match. At Zubrov home games the atmosphere is very cool and noisy.
I have heard from many that Minsk is a wonderful city. I know that it is clean and safe here. Glad to be here.
- Do you know anyone from the Dynamo squad?
- I’ve known Rob Hamilton well and for a long time. We played together in the AHL and also trained in Calgary. I will be very glad to see him tomorrow.
In Calgary I played with the Belarusians. Some of them are here now, we are in touch. I was told that Minsk is very beautiful in the summer.
- What are your expectations before the season?
“I’m looking forward to meeting the team on the ice.” I really want to help the team achieve high goals.

Really weird reading someone's translated speech translated back into English. Makes him sound like some kind of monster tbh.

All I know is that when I embarked upon my erotic journey from Milan it ended in Minsk.

Yeah, I'm sure that a lot of things get lost in translation. I didn't see there was an English version, and just saw that in the sports news today. That's why I figured I'd share it.
Not even sure how much attention I want to draw to Dube, because of the things that he (allegedly) did.

I think with Dube's situation, it wasn't the accused that made a settlement with the accuser, but Hockey Canada. Because they rely on sponsors and funding, the paper trail is a little more transparent and questions started to come up by people paying attention.
If the hockey players paid the settlement with their own funds, I wonder if things would have gotten to this point.

I think that the Lawyers likely recommended against doing anything that could imply Guilt. Would have to offer re-lettering of all potential jerseys.

I wasn't asking for it for free. Thought they could at least respond to my email and explain if they couldn't. I figure even offering me a season ticket holder 15% off or whatever would be a good gesture and they'd still make some profit.

I'd do something edgy keep the name bar and change the flames logo to an ostrich. And when someone brings up that dobe is a rapist you can say "allegedlys"

I'm not sure why it's on the Flames to re-letter a jersey at a discount when that (former) player is charged with something they had nothing to do with. How many Dube jerseys could there be anyway?

Stitch that over the numbers and under the name-bar...perfect!

I should follow up on my previous posts in this thread and mention that the Flames did come through and offer a substantial discount on a new jersey to replace my Dube jersey. There's probably not a lot of Dube jerseys out there as mentioned earlier in the thread but thought they deserved some kudos for providing a solution to a ####ty situation even though fault doesn't lie with them for the jersey becoming unwearable.

Toppi Ronni for sure...
Might see how camp goes for Parekh, but probably deciding between Weegar, Sharangovich or Zary.

These days I think it would almost be better to get an alumni player or a recently drafted player like Parekh.

I would go with Zary. I think he has the makings of a superstar.
